5Easy gear shifting!!!!
By Dai Roberts
I have these shimano 2300 gear shifters on my Giant Defy 4 road bike and they are a breeze to use. I recently completed a London - Paris charity cycle ride and the simple but very effective thumb click gear change is far more user friendly than the more traditional paddles. Shimano do these for 8, 9 or 10 gear changes. my opinion: Get them!!

5The only low pressure timer (that I know of)
By Jon
This is simple but effective. As far as I'm aware it is the only such timer that will work at zero pressure (water butts rather than taps) since all the rest need 0.5 bar upward pressure to either open or close the valve. And it can be connected to their soil moisture meter. At one point Gardena HQ appeared to have stopped supplying it to the UK. But now it's back again.

5Works perfectly even from a waterbutt
By william.uk
This item seems well made and should last. I have now bought a second one of these. I have had no problems at all. It has the advantage of not looking expensive and being tamper-proof, as settings cannot be modified without the provided card. Unlike most timers this one will also work on low pressure such as from a waterbutt which is a great advantage.

5Seems well made
By Wiseguy
I wanted something not too big, which would hold lock, camera and lunch, but idealy capable of expansion. I have a Tubus rack, which is quite narrow, so the bags with just two straps that go across the underside of the rack will not work well. The Silkroad Plus has four straps, one in each corner, which seem to hold firmly. The bag is not too stiff, so it sags when not full (good - lower profile) but can be expanded if needed with a 'smile' zip. The expansion panniers are made of much better material than others I have seen (but are quite small, of course) and clip to the pannier stays. This bag does not have (or need) a strap around the seat post - good, as I have my mini-pack with tube/tools etc permanently attached there. The Silkroad bag only goes on when I need it.Note, mine came without a rain cover. I contacted Vaude who agreed it should have one, which they then sent to me from Germany. Well done Vaude!

5Adiorable!
By A. Reviewer
I love this perfume! The scent is pretty, light and feminine, and definitely not one of those heavy migraine-inducing ones like J'adore or Dolce Vita, that dior can do so well too.I had to try it out on my skin about three times in shops before deciding it was right for me so I recommend you do this too, before spending the money, as Mis Dior is definitely not cheap. It's also worth shelling out the extra £20 or so for the "le parfum" version as it's far more long-lasting than the eau de toilette, which doesn't last at all.Save it for dates and special occasions and it should last for ages!

4backpack/bike pannier
By sisyphus
This pannier converts easily and quickly into a backpack and is designed with a laptop compartment as well as another large comparment and smaller pockets (e.g. for bike tools). It is excellent value, cheaper and lighter than alternatives. My only gripe is that the lower hook does not attach to my bike rack - but it seems to stay on. It is almost ideal for commuters but perhaps not sturdy enough for long trips.

4What a beast....
By Mark Hayward
Its not an easy job deciding which desktop system to purchase these days, i was looking to replace an old and somewhat reliable cyberpower system (more on that later) i looked at all the major players for gaming desktops, Cyberpower, Alienware, HP, Zoostorm, and Chillblast and was very tempted to go the cyberpower route again, but my old Cyber PC was never quite right, it had to go back when it's raid configuration crashed and it suffered a dead PCI slot so i decided to go another route, i had never heard of Benthir Shop before but impressed with the reviews and specs/price i decided to go for a i7 quad core teamed with a GTX560 ti card with 8GB Ram, i wanted a larger power unit (850W) and dealing with Benthir to obtain a new price was fast, courteous and efficient.Less than a week later it arrived, so this a review of this Behemoth based on early opinions and i have not had a chance to REALLY push it yet.PROS - Fast...and i mean really SERIOUSLY fast...but with that set up you would expect it to be, more than sufficient for all current games and fairly future proofed. Eerily quiet, even with 3 fans going full tilt it is virtually inaudible. Quality components, mine came with a P8h57-m PRO Motherboard, 4 memory slots and expandable up to 32GB, 8 GB of nice RAM, a fast 1TB drive and other goodies Clean install.....what a blessed relief, no bloatware on this beast what so ever Value for money, mine, with a 850w power unit was a shade over 800 bucks, if i had gone the cyberpower route it would have meant spending another 200, and that is value for money in my book. This is perhaps a personal opinion, but i like the fact that Benthir send you all the packaging, spares etc so you can see that they have used quality parts. But however there are a few minus points that stopped it getting a 5 star reviewCONS - Case, they have used a Hornet NG case for their range and while it is a good sturdy bit of kit it looks (to my eyes anyway) cheap and frankly tacky....the reason for this is what is NOT shown on Amazon because they use an empty case for the picture, what you dont see is a cheap looking plastic panel on the front which is brightly illuminated and reads High Performance System, this is ALWAYS on and just ruins the whole look, below that there is another cheap tacky piece of plastic which says status and flashes intermittently, there is NO REASON for these bits of tat to be there, if i had known i would have asked benthir to use a different case. Oh and those fans which look quite cool and restrained in the photo, they light up VERY brightly indeed, i know its a personal thing but i would have expected more taste in a 800 pound system, and if you were wondering what that flashing status light MEANS well good luck finding out because Benthir supply no documentation at all which brings me onto... Communication/Documentation - Not overly communicative the Benthir boys, one of the things i enjoyed about Cyberpower and before them Evesham was the "welcome pack" thanks for buying from us, this goes here, this goes there, put this in first etc, with Benthir you get nothing, well that's not strictly true, i did receive a short letter in German basically a receipt, whilst not a problem for old PC lags like me, for someone starting out just getting a black box and few boxes of bits may be a bit daunting, you do very much get the idea that Benthir are just PC Builders and not really interested in the whole warm and fuzzy approach but that's ok and the communication i have had has been fast and efficient. Wireless Dongle - Oh come on Benthir a high performance gaming system and no wireless card installed...this will be my first upgrade, the dongle will get you connected with little fuss but it's really not good enough for online gaming, but then again i would much rather have quality core components which Benthir does deliver. Power Supply - Yep you will have to shell out a fiver for a kettle power supply, this seems an odd omission to me could so easily have been thrown in. Wiring - Now i haven't bought a PC for few years but i remember my Cyberpower having immaculate internal wiring, when i took the side off the Behemoth i was frankly appalled by the mess of wiring which Benthir had crammed into the case, there was feet of it, all tied with a very insubstantial cable tie, no documentation for what it is, what it's used for etc and it's going to makeany upgrading difficult because everything is so cramped, now if you are never going to take the case apart then this isnt going to matter too much, but for those of us who enjoy tweaking their systems this is a serious fault, if they had used a slightly larger case (the Hornet is 420mm tall) then this problem could have been alleviated but as is....well just not acceptable frankly, i had serious thought about sending it back.BUT....and it's a big but, it works, very VERY well, it's fast well specced, well priced with quality components, the 3 case fans, 1 processor fan and the heat sinks on the video card all contribute to super cool running and the case does offer the option of water cooling in the future, and if having a machine this good means i have to live with untidy internals and a chavtastic case then so be it, but i AM going to take a screwdriver to that damn cheap tacky sign.

5Nice little scooter

Bought this for my 6yr son. Had a few other cheap two wheel scooters in the past but these quickly fell apart. Had some good recommendations from friends so bought this model. Nice and sturdy, well put together and well finished.

5We love it - that's Mum & son!
By S Pell
This scooter is fantastic - the handle comes up high enough for it to be used by adults and the price is fantastic too. My elder son just saved up and bought a scooter more than twice the price of this one but i much prefer to use this one. The brake is really good - i use it to come down a fairly steep hill from school and it slows me so much more than the more expensive scooter. Would recommend this one over and over again!

5An impressive piece of kit...
By SNS
I was one of those people who said "who needs an Ipad? why not just get a laptop... it does more!". Then I got one about a month ago and I can honestly say I jut pure ignorant!Firstly though... if you buy an iPad expecting it to replace your laptop, you will be disapointed. Lets get a few things out the way here.1) An iPad isn't and never was designed to replace either a PC or a laptop. Its a tablet device which compliments either a PC, Mac or a laptop.2) An iPad has one massive disadvantag to a laptop, and that is the ease of transferring data. It has no DVD drive or USB slot! Now if we look at what the iPad is and does offer... its an amazing piece of technology which can massive potential for use and funcationality. The main things I use mine for are...1) Word processing and spreadsheet creation.2) Painting and drawing.3) Internet browsing.4) Music, videos and podcasts.5) Gaming.6) Reading.7) Emails. You can't judge an iPad or any technology unless you know what functonality and you see how well it does those. All the above are what I required or found I could do, and now use my iPad for such. The iPad fits my needs and requirements. In essence, the iPad is a bigger, massive version of an iPhone, but so what? It works!Word processing and spreadsheet creation works a charm. Typing couldnt be easier, and with a wide range of word processing "apps" to buy and use, you have ample choice. There are even "apps" which read and create MS documents too.Internet Browsing, despite the lack of flash, is spot on. Most websites now are moving away from flash or offer a free "app" to download and use. For example, the BBCIplayer offers a free "app" because the main website users flash and it works a charm.Email management is easy enough with pre-installed apps.Music, videos and podcasts all work the same way as on the iPhone.Reading is a nice experience - and you can use either iBook or the Kindle app or many others to read with.Gaming offers litterally hundreds or thousands of games to play for free or purchase. As for the painting and drawing... that was originally just something I was curious about, but after downloading a couple of "apps" and buying a stylus, i've found the iPad to be very good at creating original art work. From my experience the iPad has a few advantages over a laptop, if you need some:1) Its far more compact and eaier to lighter to carry around in a bag.2) A lot easier to hold in your hand or lap and type into.3) An iPad doesnt become hot when holding it, like some laptops can.4) The battery life is GREAT! I've had a few laptops in the past and most have died after about 2 hours. My iPad is stll going and with lots of juice left after just half the day being left turned on.Obviously if you use the iPad excessively, the battery goes down quicker... but it still lasts a lot longer. Then you have the thousanads of free and purchaseable "apps" which expand the functionality of the iPad far beyond what you might expect. Compare this to a laptop, where you might have to spend about £10+ to get a piece of software on your machine to do something which you can either get for free or pay a lot less for on an iPad.As I said above.... laptops do offer more processing power, more functionality like DVDs and easier data transfer and more complex software. But if all you need is a small amount of functionality, and you dont need all the bells and whistles of a laptop... consider an iPad.The only thing I would mark against an iPad (and this is optional) is that you will likely end up spending MORE money on accessories like protective casings and bags and perhaps a keyboard. If so, it can add a further £100+ to what you already spend.

4Very good, but a few cautionary points.
By David
I'm sure the vast majority of those buying an iPad 2 will be very pleased with it. For the most part it lives up to the hype and is a very seductive piece of kit. After downloading iTunes onto the computer and registering, setting up the iPad is a doddle as it's simply a case of connecting it to the computer and the automatic 'synching' process does the rest.Connecting to the internet via Wi-Fi with my 'N' router was as easy as entering the password and I have to say the response time of the Safari web browser was very impressive, with pages loading very quickly making web browsing a joy. The screen is a gem being bold and bright and large enough to be regarded as a serious web browsing monitor. The only slight criticism, which is often referred to, is how quickly the screen becomes covered in fingerprints. But I hasten to add the need to clean it only becomes apparent after you've turned the thing off and isn't a problem during use.Of course, Apps are a huge attraction and there's a lot of fun to be had from browsing the App Store and downloading from the huge amount available, many of which are free and even the paid ones don't exactly break the bank. And apps can be downloaded directly onto the iPad, there's no need to sync them from the computer to the device. If, like me, you enjoy keeping up with the news and catching up with missed TV programmes then apps like BBC iPlayer, Sky news for iPad, and the (currently free) Channel 4oD are obvious choices and are very impressive on the iPad. A YouTube app also comes as standard and there have been comments about losing Wi-Fi connection whilst using it which I did experience a few times. This may need to be fixed in a future update but it reconnected quickly and wasn't a big problem.Criticism is bound to be subjective but there are a few things I'd refer to. Firstly, it seems that most people don't appear to have a problem with setting up their email account on the iPad, but for me it was a non starter. I have Outlook Express on my desktop PC and have never had problems setting up email accounts before. But my iPad just wouldn't receive emails - sending emails, yes, but it wouldn't receive them. I spent the better part of two days trying to beat this problem, but tech help both at Apple and my ISP along with lots of forum trawling couldn't resolve it. I tried setting it up manually, then synching OE from the computer, but all to no avail. Others seem to have had no problems in this respect so maybe it's just my bad luck. The second thing is battery life. In just about every iPad review I've read, 10 hours seems to be the boastful claim and I notice other reviewers here are similarly impressed. Well, perhaps that 10 hours is possible with Wi-Fi turned off. But in my experience using the iPad with Wi-Fi turned on drained the battery in half that time. So, maybe time between charges depends on how much you surf the net. If not, then maybe mine had a substandard battery. My third criticism is maybe due to the success of the iPad design. It's a beautiful thing and deceptively solid and strong, which is a good thing, right? But it's sleek, slim, highly polished profile makes for quite a 'slippery' unit. Using it on your lap or a table is fine but holding it as, say, an ebook reader (and iBooks, together with the Kindle app, are excellent by the way) can sometimes be a little frustrating as you try to work out the best way to hold it for any length of time. Then there's the lack of Flash support which means that if you're someone who likes to watch video clips on the internet, or indeed any video content that requires Flash, then you're going to be frustrated by Apple's stubborn refusal to allow it to run on the iPad. There are a few apps and freeware programs out there which attempt to get around this issue but I wouldn't put too much faith in them at present. But if Flash is of no concern to you then obviously this can be discounted. And finally, there's the price. Although the iPad2 is good value when compared to the original I think those of us in the UK still get legally mugged. To some extent we can thank the VAT hike to 20% which means that no less than a hefty £90 of a 64Gb iPad2 price is VAT. Of course, that's no fault of Apple but it does make the overall cost an important consideration. If price isn't a concern and you don't mind shelling out so much for something that will probably be superseded by iPad3 in less than a year - and you're not frustrated by the email account problems I had and the niggles I refer to above then I'd say the iPad 2 is a serious contender for anyone looking for a tablet which, by all accounts, sets a standard in terms of design, build, and sheer usability that the 'android' competitors are still struggling to compete with.

5Brilliant piece of kit.
By F. Patel
To be honest I wasn't really in the market for a tablet. But after I found I was using my smart phone in which to check my mail, check the news and finding myself getting somewhat frustrated at the small screen size I decided; "What the heck" and did a trawl for the best tablet for me. Initially the I-Pad was out of the running simply because of the price. But after looking around at the competition it soon became very clear, that actually the I-Pad was the only worthy contender: Dual Core Chip, fantastic build quality, capacitive touch screen and best of all it is so intuitive in use.I ordered off of Apple (Got the free engraving) and through their website was able to check its progress: China, Middle East,Germany,England. The I-Pad arrives fully charged, however if like me and this is your first Apple product you need to download I-Tunes in which to register the product. (No other-way to get it working)Well, to turn it on, you depress the wee button on the top of the Pad, It's up and running within seconds and I mean seconds. To access your mail touch the mail app (Ok,you do have to enter your e-mail details first) and again within seconds you are checking your e-mail. Check the internet, touch the Safari app (Safari is the Apple version of Window Explorer/Firefox/Opera etc) very smooth again within seconds I'm surfing the net.The battery lasts around 10 hours and takes up to a couple to recharge. Now I suppose the main selling point for a lot of people will be the applications (Apps) that are available. I simply bought a couple of pre-paid vouchers in town and entered them into my I-tunes account. Its as easy as that and you don't have to enter any bank details anywhere. Every-time I purchase an app within a few days I receive a receipt (e-mail) from apple informing me of my purchase.I've downloaded a backgammon app. (Ok) the Daily mail app (Don't laugh as the app is really something else.) Which costs £[] for the year and as somebody who reads the Guardian on a daily basis and the Economist on a weekly one I will be purchasing it once the free period runs out in Aug. What I'm saying here is from what I've seen of the difference in Android and Apple apps. Apple wins hands down in the quality stakes.I've downloaded the bookshelf app and currently have 4 books downloaded. To be honest I just wanted to know what they would be like and as the books were a lot cheaper than the usual paperbacks I purchase I thought I'd try them out. Well reading them is no different to reading a real book and you get the bonus of being able to instantly check out what any word means. Simply by moving your finger across the screen the pages move back or forth. However I can't see myself giving up the pleasure of reading a real book any-time soon. For a start you never ever worry about a book.I also purchased a plastic screen protector. Now having fitted a Zagg Invisible Shield to my phone I knew fitting one to the I-Pad would be a job and a half. Guess what it was. However I recommend buying one of the wee packs (3 or 6) in which to get used to fitting a screen protector without coming up with something that looks like an aero bar.All in all, I am most impressed with the I-Pad, my only gripe is how anything connected to Apple is so damn expensive. On the other side of the coin you get what you pay for. At the moment the I-Pad2 is the best tablet on the market with the most peripherals, yes there are lots of competitors in the background. But if you want the best, then there's simply no contest.

I had an old razor scooter that a friend gave me so that I could keep up with my son on the school run and decided to upgrade to a new micro sprite because the handles were falling off my existing one. Firstly, the folding mechanism is nice and easy on the sprite and I've found it glides much better than my old one - seems to create less friction and so I don't need to kick as often as I did on my old scooter. However, some of the paving tiles near my house have grooves in them and I've noticed the vibrations coming through the scooter a lot more - it can be quite uncomfortable when taking them at speed. however, as the micro model that has better suspension (the flex) was about £100 more expensive, I think I can put up with that! The new kick stand does work, but it's not that easy to 'kick' it out! For the price I'm very pleased with it - it is robust, sleek, not too heavy and a lovely shade of red!

5Great!
By NA
Purchased this for my daughter's (5 years old) Christmas present and she absolutely loves it. I was worried that it might be too challenging for her, but it's absolutely fine (and I can even use it too!). Highly recommended

4Time management help
By Wayne
I bought this watch because I read a book on time management that suggested having a watch that vibrated on the hour (which helped with the time management strategy advocated). Looking around I found there weren't many watches that did this. This one does. It also has great alarm features and stop watch. If you're looking for a functional watch for these types of things, then it's great. If you regard a watch as a piece of jewellery, it's probably not for you. It looks ok, but not expensive (but then, what digital watch does!)

5Compact, retro good looks, extremely well made.
By Alison Thompson
This was my daughter's Christmas present. She loves it and so do I. I did an a LOT of online research before I chose this kitchen. I wanted something that would grow with my daughter, look good in my living room, that was compact with plenty of features and preferably double sided to make it more interesting and to allow more than one child to play at it at once. This kitchen ticks all those boxes. It is surprisingly compact and yet a really decent size for my tall 2.5 year old to stand beside. It is very well made and has lots of features. I love its wooden retro good looks and it is not bright or garish and so looks perfectly acceptable sitting in our small living room without needing to be put away each night. It is timeless in its design and I can imagine my daughter playing with it for many years and it perhaps even becoming an heirloom item in our family!I would also say that although there were a number of pieces in the box I found it straightforward to put together and well constructed. Anyone with any kind of experience putting flat pack together will not struggle. All in all I would wholeheartedly recommend this product.

Got this for our son of 1.5 for Christmas! he is obsessed with all things kitchen, as well as with buttons! We love that it's a station and has both kitchen, stove, dishwasher and sink... It's also the details and quality that count! Beautifully made, painted to perfection, the blackboard surface is a great touch, has hangers for towels, the knob buttons make "click" sounds when you turn them... It's just perfect! We are absolutely satisfied!!!And delivery was also very prompt!Great purchace *****
