5Great boots!
By Lindsay
I love these boots! I bought them for a ski trip and had many compliments. They are stylish, waterpfoof, comfortable and look good with skinny jeans or under skipants. They are slightly wide so I might suggest ordering 1 size smaller than normal.

5Amazing Piece of Technology
By S. Rostron
Just received the new iMac this morning and already im in love , seriously i want this thing to have my babies !. Having used a PC most of my life its kind of a big step to change OS. I was running Vista on a 22 inch TFT along with a couple of Adobe products Dreamweaver , Photoshop etc which are essential as I use these everyday so I wanted to run these PC applications from Mac OS as the software is expensive so with Parallels you can run multiple virtual OS through your MAC and you cannot tell the difference also you can run the OS in Coherence mode which integrates both Windows and MAC into the same desktop , the Vista installation took about 10 minutes and all that was needed was the CD Key and thats it. So if you need access to MS applications don't worry its all possible.Back to this iMac 27" demon , the first thing you will notice is the size of the screen and the LED quality and smooth finish , seriously the engineering and product quality is at its finest and compare it to my old dusty ATX case its un-comparable and to think I have been using a PC for all these years is crazy. The whole iMac has one wire , yes just one wire and thats the power ATX cable the keyboard is small , compact and the new Apple smart mouse is also wireless and very smooth , they come with rechargeable batteries so you might need to buy the apple battery charger but the OS will tell you when they are getting low.I have just installed VLC , Google Chrome Browser and Audion which all took a couple of minutes to do and to think it not possible to get a virus or trojan is definitely the future. a few things you might want to know if your a PC user is that you can plug in any NTFS or FAT32 USB Device and it will automatically appear on the MAC Desktop , I think on some of the older iMac you needed additional software but on this iMAC everything is compatible , secure and very fast. The built in speakers are amazing quality , which is something you would expect with Apple products , I was going to purchase some additional speakers but you really don't need them with this iMAC.You may be tempted to save a £££ and get the 21" iMAC but i would recommend getting the 27" the thing is huge but already after a few hours im getting use the size of the monitor as while im typing this review out I have about 3-4 windows open and visible something which wasn't really possible on a 22" monitor. I have been trying to think of any negative points but seriously after taking this thing out of the box everything is what I expected and much more.If your thinking of upgrading , then buy a iMAC. Before I purchased this I thought it was cheaper to build a new custom PC with same size screen with the same processor , graphics card , monitor etc and I could of saved £200-£300 or maybe more but with the build quality , specification and usability of Snow leopard OS , the Gorgeous LED Backlit 27" screen , compatibility and much more I have to say I doubt I would ever go back to a PC or Microsoft OS.

5Wow, wow wow
By Mr. A. White
I've been a windows user since Windows 3.0 back in the early 90s and have been looking at a Mac for about a year. I've waited until the 2011 refresh to get this stunning 27" model.Wow - it's just so much better than Windows.. Even for the same spec Windows machine - Mac OSX is just the best.Expensive yes.. but Macs do contain a certain amount of value in them if you need to sell them.I did think the 27" screen would be too big and thought for ages about getting the 21.5" model, but I'm glad I chose the bigger screen.

4Back to Mac
By Don Roberto
I took delivery of my shiny new iMac last week and am very pleased to be back in the macintosh family, after a few years in the 'wilderness'. At first I thought I had overdone it by buying the big 27" screen, but after a couple of days I realised if I'd bought a smaller one, I would only have lusted after it's big brother. The speed at start up and overall performance are typical mac. Fast and smooth. The quality of build, design and performance can only be described as superb. I only have one glitch which is a little annoying. The wireless mouse tends to be a bit 'over sensitive' shall we say. It enlarges the page without asking and the only way I've managed to get it back to normal is to re-load the page and start again. This keeps the rating at 4*. Has anyone else had this problem? Using Skype is a dream. The picture and sound quality are excellent which is important to us out here in the Spanish countryside. I did have to work out how to use the built in camera on Skype, but in the end I fixed it in Skype preferences. If anyone else has the same problem, select 'Start video automatically at the beginning of a call' in the 'Calls' sub-menu, and Bob's your uncle, up it comes! So for now, it's so far, so good. This is my 4th iMac and the biggest and best of them all. I shall be studying the manual to make sure I get the best out of it. PS Thanks Amazon for a good deal and prompt delivery out here in the Spanish sticks!

5Check the RRP with Apple
By L8again
The product itself needs no selling! This is an excellent desktop computer, without the usual clatter of a computer box! It's exceptionally fast AND comes with the usual benefits of Macs. Intuitive operating system, perfect compatibility with iOS devices such as iPods, iPhones and iPads. If you really want to unleash the full potential of your new iPhones or iPads, you really ought to get a Mac. Clearly the iMac is an expnsive way of doing it but there are not any other more elegant solutions. But be warned: some unscrupulous 3rd party traders on amazon are using the wrong RRP so you think you are getting a saving but check on apple.com/uk for the latest upto date RRP. And remember, if you qualify for educational discount, you can get 3 years waranty FREE by buying directly from Apple. Don't be conned

4WHAT A CHANGE
By A. Taylor
I have used Windows since Win 2 (well used is a bit of a stretch for Win 2 but you'll get my meaning) and I currently have Win 7 on an I7 PC. Despite the many years of PC use I found I was getting fed up with all the alerts, Trojan's virus's and the ongoing cost of combating them all and, as I really enjoy my IPad I thought I'd give Mac's a try. Result so far; very impressed. The IMac was very easy to setup, plugged in the ethernet cable from my BT HH3 expecting to have to enter all sorts of details a la Windows and no, it all just worked, was I amazedFrom switch on until the machine is usable takes 35 seconds, Screen is crystal clear and bright. Every thing appears to be very user configurable with very little effort. I connected a Freecom drive to which I had backed up all my files from my Win 7 machine and the IMac read them without problems. Very easy, and fast to copy from the Freecom to the mac. The Mac would not write to the Freecom drive until I had re-formatted it.I like the Icons on the docking bar and the way they bounce to let you know that they're loading. I also like the fact that I could buy a word processor, Pages, and a spreadsheet, Numbers, for £[] and download them straight onto the machine. And I'm a major fan of the back up system offered by Time Machine. Overall lots of good, useful software that's so very easy to use that I wonder how I did without - Re the machine(screen) itself there are no controls on the front of the 'machine at all and the back is fairly fuss free as well. Rear connections are 4 USB, 1 Firewire, 1 Ethernet and one Thunderbird port as well as the power lead. The on/off switch is located on the rear of the machine as well, easily reached though on the left hand side. The right side of the machine has the DVD and SD slots. Overall this is one integrated machine and with some care it can be set up with no wires showing at all.Overall I find the IMac a class act and I am certainly glad I bought it.Having said that there are certainly things that I think Win machines/operating system does better, or perhaps I should say, more to my liking. Firstly, the Finder (for finding files folders etc.,) is particularly unfriendly. I had Snow Leopard for a day and that was just about usable, but the one in Lion is not to my liking at all. Where's Directory Opus when you need it! Secondly, the magic mouse is poor, oh it works well enough but, because of the slim and low shape there is next to no support for one's hand. I bought a track-pad which, again, doesn't have any support but at least you can rest your arm on the table while using it, and I find that somewhat easier to use. The lack of a marked `delete' key on the very small keyboard supplied with the IMac (use fn + backspace key) is also a bit of a pain as is the lack of numeric keypad. I can understand the space argument when speaking of laptops but really don't in the case of an IMac.Syncing calendars and phones is a lot easier with Win if you don't have all Apple equipment. For example I have an HTC phone, an IPad both of which I like to keep the calendars sync'd with my desktop. Not a problem with Win 7, but apparently impossible with Mac Lion. Because HTC see's itself as a Windows phone there is no HTC sync programme for Mac's, you can mount the phone as a drive and swap date that way and or you can update in to the Mac's ICal using GMail but what a palaver! Not Apples fault I agree but I am speaking of potential downsides here - come on HTC get a grip. What is Apples fault is the lack, or rather inability to use Flash which makes accessing a lot of the information on some web sites a pain in the bum cos it can't be done!Four stars because of the keyboard and mouse, but as a computer - great, try it, it won't change the world but it may make life just that little bit easier, especially the auto save in Pages and Numbers. :-)UPDATE : After some little time with the Imac I have come across a fairly large downside : to wit the built in DVD player is very slow indeed, especially when copying tracks into ITunes, be prepared to watch paint dry quicker than this. The more I use this machine the more I suspect that there is a lot of hype around the operating system. It does have drawbacks and for certain functions Windows 7 most certainly has it covered. The screen is to die for though and the more I use the Mac the more I find I'm enjoying it.UPDATE 14-10-11 : Since writing the above I have found that the CD/DVD drive is not as bad as I thought, I think the problem was that the CD's I was copying on to Itunes (Audio books) had some sort of problem which affected the copy times. Since then I have copied several more without the same speed issue (it still isn't lighting fast but probably on a par with most other set-ups when copying into Itunes). The other great thing about this machine is not forever asking to install an update for one thing or another (32 updates in the past week for my Win 7 machine!!!!) Overall this is a machine to enjoy, and IOS5 and the cloud just make it better......

Bought as a replacement for my 2007 iMac which was running slowly on Lion. Arrived within 2 working days - shipped with Snow Leopard though (so only 4 stars). Have upgraded and it is lightning fast. Excellent and bought for £100 less than Apple price. Shipped with wireless keyboard and magic mouse which is a treat with new Lion gestures.

5Excellent first impressions for a first time Mac user
By werdnajas@hotmail.com
As an avid PC user for as long as I can remember I finally made the switch to Mac after having experienced the joy and elegance of iPhones and iPads. For me rather than buying a Mac purely on the Apple brand I bought this because I wanted to try my hand at creating iPhone apps and in order to do this you require a Mac.First of all, I just want to crack open the proverbial nutshell here and say that this is a great piece of kit. I have owned a Mac for about 6-8 weeks now and it is fast, reliable, versatile and very easy to use.As many others have mentioned, many of the plus points relate to its look and performance. The machine is certainly very elegant - and with only one wire required, it makes my desk far more clutter free as the mouse and keyboard are both wireless.Performance wise, it probably starts up in between 20-30 seconds. This is not too dissimilar to PCs that I have owned, but what has impressed me more is how the machine is ready to use as soon as the desktop appears. Far too often on PCs you have to wait a couple of minutes before the PC is truly usable due to its loading of various background programs. Not so with a Mac - you can load up the desktop and be browsing on Facebook extremely quickly.Shut-down time is about 5 seconds for me - very very fast. I am a fairly hefty user of a computer and I'm pleased to say this Mac holds up very well. I did upgrade the RAM from 4Gb to 12Gb (bought 2x4Gb RAM from Crucial for about £35) - which means that at no point has my Mac ever slowed down due to a lack of memory.A lot of people will worry about what programs can be run on a Mac that don't on a PC. This clearly depends on the user but for me all programs I use regularly on PC port over to Mac easily. These include Microsoft Office, Portal 2, Football Manager 2012, MSN and audacity. There are some neat little features on Mac that I like that I haven't experienced on PC - things like when you receive a Facebook event or an email, or an MSN or similar you get those little red circles with numbers to indicate you have a notification of some sort. Nothing groundbreaking but a nice aesthetic difference to the flashing bars you generally get on a PC.I have had no virus issues so far and have no antivirus installed. I think common sense and diligent care is needed here - everyone knows Macs don't generally get infected as much as PCs due to the PCs share in the market but Macs are certainly not virus-proof - just be careful what you click and download and you should be fine. You can get virus checkers for Mac but in my PC experience virus checkers tend to hog a lot of memory so I will refrain from this as long as I can.500Gb space is fine for now as my hard disk space - it's plausible I will need more in the future but for now it is fine.I don't really play graphically intensive games so I cannot really comment on this but it plays both Football Manager and Portal very nicely without any dropoff in framerate.Sound is very clear even without external speakers - I have no complaints at all about this.I will admit it can take a bit of a while to switch from PC to Mac. I still don't feel confident enough to be able to fix a problem should I encounter one but I haven't had cause for concern so far. You will have to adjust to how to navigate a Mac and to store/find files - but this is something that just comes in time and becomes second nature the more you use it. In the first few days I was not ruing my purchase but a bit concerned at the complexity of navigation to find certain files etc - but as mentioned this was just a newbie thing and has improved drastically over time.Is 21.5" a big enough screen? Overall, probably yes - the jump to a 27" screen is heavy on the pockets but for those not willing to pay extra, you certainly won't find this small. I would say that something more like 24" is more optimal, but this is not available on the current set of Macs. In hindsight I think I should have got the larger screen, but this is not a dealbreaker. Note that as this is an all-in-one, you cannot upgrade the screen without upgrading the whole Mac.In terms of the Magic Mouse and the keyboard - I like one and dislike the other. The magic mouse to me while fairly innovative is not quite to my liking. It's easy to scroll with and is nice to look at - I do even now have some trouble with right clicking and zooming with it. I would probably prefer to use a different mouse but in truth I haven't been too bothered to change.I really like the keyboard. It's nicely built and I like how you are not going to be able to dirty the keyboard with crumbs and other foodstuffs getting stuck in there. A few people have complained about no numeric keypad. This is true but to me it's no big deal - and I work with spreadsheets often.iTunes is excellent on the Mac. It's much faster and sleeker than iTunes on a PC. Same goes for iPhoto - while I can easily do the same on a PC, the Mac makes me feel like everything is much more organised and together and I'm not spreading my pictures and music all over my Mac. It's just very... tidy.So in hindsight, getting a Mac was a very good idea - for me it was quite forced in that if I want to create an iPhone app I needed one anyway. Would I pick a Mac over a PC in the future? Hmmm... this is hard to say. I definitely enjoy Macs - but I also enjoy PCs (when they are working well!). There is no real supremacy I can give one over the other - so when it comes to my next computer, I probably will favour Macs slightly more, but would also have no problem turning to a PC again. I must say though don't underestimate the joy of having a device that does not lag - this is a godsend when you consider other computers that churn very slowly after a few years of use. I am still very new to Macs so I cannot determine how it will perform in a couple of years time - but this is certainly a great start so far. Also note that this review was written in May 2012. It is widely expected that a new series of iMacs will become available soon - so it may be worth holding out for those if Apple keep the same price point. Also, a new Mac OS will be out soon called Mountain Lion. It may be worth upgrading to this OS once it comes out - which will have some neat upgrades, such as notification centre (akin to that in iOS 5 and above).

4Confessions of a diehard PS User
By Mr. K. N. Henderson
Having owned an iPad (fantastic - just get one) for about 6 months I finally succumbed to the lure of the iMac with promises of legendary usability, speed and quietness after a lifetime using various versions of Microsoft operating systems and PC/Laptops.Let's be clear, while the iMac usability is great, it does take lots of time to adjust to the way Apple does things and things that are "second nature" have to be re-learnt. Also, I am not convinced that the usability between the very latest Windows versions and Apple are that great although undeniably the iMac (Lion) interface is excellent and certainly wins any beauty contest.Other benefits? Well it looks fantastic, boot up times are incredible and it is so quiet compared to my (admittedly old) PC. I ended up buying Office for iMac as I am just used to the way it works and Outlook migration is easier if you have archive (.pst) files. Is it worth the extra £500 compared to the "all in one" Lenovo I was also considering? After a month of ownership I would probably say just about, but if you don't have the spare cash and are an experienced PC user then don't fall for the Apple Mafia hype as modern PC's are also very good.

5My Personal Experience with Apple
By Mr. B. H. Malin
Coming from a 20yr old. Having owned and used an iMac for around 3 months.I won't go too much into the general specs of the iMac as this can be found on multiple reviews and the apple website so what's the point. However I will tell you something of my own experience with my iMac and Apple. Before I took the plunge and converted to apple I was very afraid and very skepticle of buying and using a Mac. Questions on my mind were things like "Can it do everything I do on my pc?", "Will it be a nightmare to learn a whole different system?" and "Is it really worth the high price tag?".Ever since I got my iMac Apple has not only met but exceeded my expectations by far. To answer my previous questions:-Yes a Mac can do everything you can do on a pc and more (if your a gamer go bootcamp, its what I did)-No learning to use Mac OSX was far easier than I imagined and much smoother and user friendly than windows in my opinion. (The only thing I couldn't get the hang of was the one button click but I set that on preferences to left and right click so I could keep my beloved right click)-For me yes it was definately worth every penny. Although as with all things it depends on what your looking for. If you want the best though just go for a mac and don't look back. Sure you could get a cheaper pc but chances are it: won't look as nice, work as fast, last as long (important one) or just generally give you as much pleasure using a computer as a mac will.Yes I have fallen for Apple. But they won me over because I feel they make vastly superior products with vastly superior customer service.I will conclude with a few examples of how good customer service was for me with Apple. (With Apple Care, although I got it very cheap being a student)-When after just 2 days after I bought my mac the imac models were suddenly all upgraded Apple took back the old model I had bought from the store and gave me the new model! No fuss-When I had trouble connecting my wireless keyboard at one point I phoned up Apple Care and I got the issue fixed quick by some really helpfull friendly people-After about 3 months of using my imac I had bought a razor mouse and wanted a touch pad I simply brought in my old magic mouse that came with my mac and they exchanged it for a new magic touch padApple are awesome. No they're not perfect but when I look back to using my pc's it just seems painful. I would advise getting Microsoft Office for mac however. All in all I found the 21.5 2011 iMac a truely wonderful desktop computer which I find a joy to use every day.

3Glad I only paid £35, as anymore and I would feel a bit miffed
By jegpad
Certainly worth the £35 I paid for a chunky nylon waterproof boot. The chocolate brown is a nice colour and the finish was good. However, the faux fur lining has a loose sole insert which is not glued down so that it moves when I wear them and ends up scrumpled up and very uncomfortable until I take the boots off and flatten it again, and again, and again. Its so annoying every time I put the boots on to have to adjust the fake fur sole so that it lies flat. If I had paid the regular £70 for these I would be seriously miffed.Otherwise the boot is of good construction and is a good fit for my narrow feet. I do not feel I am rolling around in them and have had no wearing in period. They feel warm, I am a size 5.5 to 6 and I bought the 6.

4Great Snow boots
By Protopsaltou Chrysanthe
It seems to be a great pair of boots (I spent the winter with the leg in a cast so I didn't try them in the snow!) The sizes are bigger than the europian ones so going one side down would probably be a good idea.

5Suitable for large or small gardens
By Alex
Supplier could not be more helpful. Top is normally supplied as one 9 ft by 5 ft panel but I asked for it in two sections which made it very easy to set up and store. Both panels are stored against my garden fence and take up no space. The top can be used on a large garden table or two small tables but I constructed a support frame which sits on two £10 workmate benches.

4Does the job
By Julie Evans
These boots are warm and cosy and kept my toes warm in the recent snowfalls. Not quite as tightly waterproof as I would have liked, but I don't think they were made for walking through muddy puddles after a naughty dog. They are comfortable and didn't give me blisters on my left ankle like a lot of new footwear does. I was lucky to find a second hand (foot?) pair for £20 and I consoder it a purchase well made.

5Skil Drill
By Arthur Grewer
my old Skil cordless was getting past it's best after 20yrs of use one of the batteries had gone and the motor was sparking a little, it was cheaper to buy a new drill from Amazon than buy a new battery. My old one was 12v, this one being 18v feels alot more powerful.Skil 1003 18V Cordless Drill Driver with 2 Battery and Accessories

So far a very good drill but having to wait 3hrs for battery to charge instead of auto shutoff is a bit quirky.

4Huge improvement on built in
By osi
Much much better than the built in. I'm not saying there is no focus motor noise at all but its virtually indistinguisable depending on the ambient noise. Clever suspension and very compact.

3Disapoints for it's price tag
By Y. Aleksandrov
It does what it is supposed to do - records all sounds with good quality. However, it fails to justify its main reason for existence - using an external mic in order to avoid the irritating sound of the AF-S focusing motor of the Nikkor AF-S lenses. The focusing noise of the lens's motor can still be heard quite loud even with the mic's sensitivity mode set to one step above Minimum. That is very disappointing as one of the selling points Nikon is advertising is exactly this - to eliminate noise from the AF-S motor when capturing HD video.I thought for the asking price Nikon had some sort of a solution for this type of noise but they did not. There are other non-Nikon alternatives out there for less than half the Nikon price and since AF-S noise is still present when using the Nikon mic, I guess buying a cheaper alternative would make much more sense. My DSLR is Nikon D5100 with the kit Nikkor lens 18-55mm AF-S.
