5Movelite Magic
By Mr. R. R. Southwick
Having just bought a VW transporter camper I was looking for a compatible awning and the Movelite seemed ideal. When I saw one on Amazon that had been "refurbished" and was half price I took the risk. Well there was no risk because once I'd worked out that the frame channels were outside the tent not inside and got a mate to help the awning went up like a dream. I checked for signs of refurbishment and couldn't find any. This particular awning benefits from its strong construction, flexible design (ie. facility to have one two or three sides open) and a strong groundsheet included. What a bargain even at full price. Can't wait for the camping weather to arrive.

1Do not buy, complete waste of money
By AA bondy
I recently bought this awning for my Vw camper,at first it looked good value for money when i set it up in my garden on a sunny day but when i used it on campsites i realised what a complete waist of £200 pounds this was. This awning is more of a £20 argos gazebo,i used it on a campsite in the south east of the uk in august this year,it was easy and quick to put up but as soon as the weather changed from sunshine to cloudy with a slight wind the awning started blowing all over the place,i looked around at the other awning's on the campsite and all were fine apart from mine,it then ripped so i decided to take it down just in case it damaged it even more or blew away.I used it again the following weekend, during the course of the night the wind picked up and it rained,i woke up to find that the awning had collapsed and it was ripped again with two broken poles. This was not a gale force storm just british weather in an open space(campsite)yet again everybody else's awnings were completely fine ,this awning has a major flaw which is it does not have enough guide ropes, the ground sheet is connected to the tent by toggles so if the wind does pick up it turnes into a kite.I purchased it from peak outdoors, who i would also recommend you to steer clear of as the customer service is completely unprofessional, they must have taken oooh at least 30 seconds to read my e mail and reply telling me that i should claim off of my insurance if the poles snapped and the awning ripped as it has nothing to do with the manufacturing of the product,i would say that this awning has some serious design flaws and is cheaply made,I will not be making the same mistake again with buying outdoor revolution products or from buying anything from peak outdoors, they don't seem to care about customer satisfaction what so ever,i feel i have been completely ripped off.

4Overall an excellent TV
By R - Heading for a Crysis!
For the price this TV excels in most areas. I'll try to summarize the best and the worst aspects (or flaws) of each major part of the TV. It's a long review so I can give as much info (or opinion) as possible.Design------The TV has a narrow black bezel edging around the screen's perimeter with a glass like edging to the bezel itself, a silver stand/base with a clear glass support stem and a very discrete Samsung logo on the bottom bezel edge. I would say the TV is stylish but classy at the same time. This TV is also incredibly thin, you'll be amazed. No complaints on the design.Picture Quality---------------The picture clarity in HD is quite frankly incredible - on both the built in HD Freeview tuner (which works well) and from an external source such as Sky HD. My Samsung replaces a 3 year old Toshiba 1080p and I can tell you the improvement in HD picture quality (compared against my old Tosh) is very noticeable. The pictures almost jump out of the screen and have incredible detail. The blacks are much blacker, and not washed out grey like my old Toshiba, but I would say that sometimes dark scenes, in movies for example, can be a little too dark and lack detail which I cannot seem to improve. Not a major complaint more of a minor quibble. Standard definition picture quality is adequate, nothing to write home about, but it's certainly good enough. I guess going from such incredible HD images to SD images is always going to be a disappointment. The motion plus feature of the TV is incredible. This feature basically smooths the appearance of the video and makes the detail in moving images clearer and more detailed. Both my wife and I were amazed how everything looks more 'real'. I've got to say Motion Plus takes some getting used to because it really does change the appearance of movies so that they seem different. Takes away from the character of movies perhaps - but probably more a case of motion plus takes some getting used to. Motion Plus can be disabled if preferred.Other minor complaints about the picture quality. There seems to be minor back light leakage around the edge of the screen and very slight white clouding. It's only noticeable when the screen is completely dark, otherwise for any lighter images you don't see this back light leakage at all.3D--What can I say. 3D works, and for me I have no complaints. It's good to be aware of a minor issue though. The active shutter 3D glasses (not included) can create a strobing effect when watching 3D TV in a bright room - whether that light source is from your house lighting or from sunlight from a window. My TV is next to the window so trying to watch 3D TV in the bright early evening sun had to be abandoned. The strobing effect was too much. Once the sun's glare died down, later in the evening, then it wasn't so much of a problem.Sound-----The sound is OK. It's not bad, it's not the greatest. The bass is a bit thin. My Toshiba probably sounded better but I expect because the Samsung is so thin, and with the speakers behind the TV screen, then this probably affects the sound quality. There are sound modes to choose from: Movie, Music, Clear Voice, Amplify but none of them truly excel. In standard sound mode though there is the ability to change the base, treble etc but these adjustments appear as frequencies in an on-screen equalizer so it's a case of adjust to taste if you don't want to adopt one of the aforementioned default sound modes. There is also SRS surround sound.Smart TV (including Samsung Apps and Web Browser)-------------------------------------------------This is where the TV starts not to impress so much. Smart TV (or the Smart Hub) is basically a user interface from where you can access all of the internet enabled services of your TV alongside the more typical TV features such as the TV guide, favourite channels etc all in the one place. A nice interface in itself but some of the features are a bit 'hit or miss'. The Samsung Apps such as BBC iPlayer, Lovefilm, Facebook, Youtube, BBC News all work great. However that's it really - there's little else you'd want to make use of, so the good worthwhile apps are very thin on the ground. Hopefully more apps will be added in the future - it'd be nice to have ITV Player and 4OD but it's a case of wait and see. There are a couple of movie streaming services in addition to Lovefilm, as well as Skype and Twitter but I haven't used this apps so won't comment on these. The Web Browser is awful. I mean really awful. I've got a 10Mbps connection but it's quite clear to see the web browser struggles - in that it's slow to draw graphical images, especially web-pages with graphical backgrounds. Not only that but text entry is via the use of an on-screen mobile phone type keypad - so basically you have 3-4 alphabetic characters per on-screen keypad button. It's slow and attempting to select the third or fourth character of a keypad on-screen button is a bit of a hit and miss process, and can be sometimes frustrating. Not only that but the on-screen 'mouse like pointer' is difficult to navigate around the screen and the alternative to highlight hyperlinks with a super-thin blue box, which is difficult to see and slow to control, isn't much better. I'd say the web browser isn't fit for purpose on the whole. Some tips however. Make google your home page and when typing in URLs (web addresses) use google to do the textual auto-completion - you'll get my meaning when you try this. Do not use the web browser's direct URL entry - it will frustrate you. And then bookmark all of your favourite websites and hope you never need to use the on-screen key pad text entry again. The web browser would get 1 out of 5 stars in my opinion.By the way the inbuilt Wi-fi works really well.Gaming------I'm not talking Samsung app games but games consoles (PS3, 360) that you might want to connect to this TV. This TV has a game mode because all of those extra video processing features such as Motion Plus etc add what is termed 'input lag'. Input lag is the time it takes for the video signal to travel from the HDMI port through the TV's innards to the TV screen itself. The longer this delay the more of a problem it is to gamers. Game mode turns off the video processing features of the TV (motion plus etc) to reduce this lag/delay. Now with game mode disabled there is terrible input lag on this TV. Console games are essentially near to unplayable. With game mode enabled the input lag is dramatically reduced and games play normally again. However, the measured input lag of this TV has been reported to be somewhere around 50-70ms in gaming mode which some say is still too high for avid gamers - gamers that might be sensitive to these delays. For me personally at first I thought I could sense the input lag in game mode, but it really doesn't seem to have affected my performance in BFBC2, Black Ops, Killzone 3 and Halo Reach multiplayer. If there is any input lag in game mode in my opinion it's not really noticeable and if it is noticeable it's minuscule. Of course in game mode disabling the various video processing features of the TV does affect picture quality (which even the manual mentions) but for me there isn't a particularly big impact.Summary-------This TV is not perfect but it excels in some important areas such as high-definition picture quality, design (style) and the Samsung Apps (of the few available). And for everything else: gaming, web-browser, 3D etc there are some compromises to take into consideration - but by no means is there anything particularly bad in this TV - well, except for that web browser. I hope you found my review useful, if a little long.

5Absolutely Amazingggggggg
By pxjain
This is my first HD TV, replacing a 1999, 28 inch widescreen CRT. It took me almost a year of research to decide on the TV that I wanted to buy. First there was a choice between LED and Plazma. Finally I went for LED as they seems to consume less power, but more importantly they are far better for daylight programmes, such as sports. LED TVs also have caught up with Plazmas, in displaying dark pictures. So I started looking for a nice LED TV and finally decided on Samsung U55D6530. The reason for my choice were; I wanted a smart TV with access to online contents. I also wanted a 3D TV. Although I wasn't quite sure which frequency to go for (100HZ, 200Hz or 400Hz), I finally decided on 400Hz. Fast moving pictures such as football matches looks much better on higher frequency TV. Just a quick note if you are confused with 400Hz. The normal television telecast is only 50Hz, then how can a TV operate on 400Hz. Because of the slowness of the old CRT TVs, the TV stations used to broadcast interlaced signals where each frame were divided into old and even line frames i.e. 100 of half frames per seconds = 50 Hz. Modern TVs can support Progressive frames, which are created by inserting the missing old or even lines in interlaced frames through estimation. Hence a 50 Hz Interlaced signal are converted into a 100Hz progressive signal. Latest LED TVs such as Samsung U55D6530, can take this further, by inserting more frames in between the two transmitted frames, through estimation routines. This is how you can get 200Hz LED or 400Hz LED.------------The Verdict------------When the TV first arrived, it looked quite big compared to the 28 inch CRT we had. But we all got used to it within a day or two. So, anyone who is not sure of which TV size to go for, my advice is to go for the biggest possible that you can afford. At the beginning, the TV did not look very clear. But then a friend of mine told me that LED TV will look better within a week as the LED TV's pixel takes some time to fully glow. Believe me the viewing experience improved every day for almost the entire week.We tried the HD channels, and they were awesome on the tele - Almost unbelievable. I watched some cricket matches on SKY Sport HD and clarity was breathtaking. I had previously watched cricket matches in many other HD teles, but this TV is far much clearer than any other TVs I have ever seen.I also tried the normal channels and they look so much better. I also bought a Samsung 3D blue ray player with this TV. We watched the MegaMind 3D movie and the 3D experience was amazing. I must say that if you want to watch more of 3D contents, then buy as big as you can, as the TV looks smaller on 3D broadcast. You can switch a 3D movie to 2D, if you don't have enough glasses or whatever. The TV is smart TV with built in WIFI. Within minutes, I was able to hooked the TV to my wireless router. Once connected to the internet, the TV automatically downloaded the latest firmware and upgrade itself. I tried YouTube, Skype and LoveFilm. The Skype experience was very nice, but as there was no microphone or camera, we could only watch the pictures with no sound and on the other side my son could not see or hear anything. I believe, you can buy a Camera+Microphone for Samsung TV. Not all camera will work. Only the once that do not need any additional driver will work, i.e. the ones approved by Samsung. These Camera+Microphone are quite expensive; around 100 bucks. There is also a keyboard/remote that can be bought for around 30 bucks. That helps using the web browser, YouTube etc. There are many apps that you can download, but I havn't tried it as yet.The TV supports USB drive. Once I connected my USB drive with lots of movies in various format to the TV, I was able to play all of them. I tried DVDRip in MPEG4/MKV, Blue-ray Rip in MKV and all of them played without any issue. You can use the TV remote to browse the files and folders on your hard drive. The TV remote can also be used to pause, fast forward, rewind, time search, stop etc. The TV is an DNLA device. i.e. as soon as you start a Windows 7 laptop/pc with windows home group setup on the same wireless network, you will see your laptop on your TV as a source. Once you select your laptop, you can stream videos, music, photos etc. from your laptop to your TV.Plenty of ports: 4 HMDI, 2 USB, 1 VGA, 1 EXT (to connect SCART devices) and many others.Any Cons: Simply None. This is my first review on the Amazon and this TV is so good that I have no choice but to share my experience with all of you. I have been a proud owner of this TV for about a month and I have been absolute fallen in love with this big beast. You can't go wrong with it. Last night, we watched some blue-rays movies and my son said "If I get one penny for each of the pixel on the screen that I am seeing, I will be a millionaire".

Great TV.Amazing colour and depth of field, it actualy looks like 3D without things jumping out the screen at you.The picture clarity is fantastic.Standard TV is also good but HD is great. 3D is a novel and works, but you are limited to the DVD's available.I spent months reviewing TV's and visting shops, and I am realy critical when it comes to picture quality. The Samsung range were always up there AT THE TOP. Looked at Pan and Sony but nothing was quite as good.I liked the screen glass going right to the edge with only a very small black edge. This 37inch was actually smaller than my Sony 32inch LCD.I therefore persuaded my wife to go up to the 40inch of this model and sent back the 37inch.This would have got 5 stars if the sound had been better. Actaully on my 40inch it does sound better

5Stunning
By Jake H0YT
First of all, I have to say the picture needs a little configuring but is noticeably better than other pictures from televisions around the £1000k mark. There are certain drawbacks, edge LED means if you have the brightness turned right up then there is some slight unevenness to the lighting during certain scenes, but as I mentioned if you tweak the picture this becomes unnoticeable. Again, there is slight banding during some panning scenes but again this can all but be eliminated with the picture settings and is a downside of edge lit LED when compared to say Plasma. However, you do a get 55" screen and a considerably lighter TV for the same size as a 50/51" Plasma so I guess it's what's more important to you. Also, the thin bezel means it takes up less space than you'd think (124cm x 79cm) so if you're in doubt whether it's too big measure up your space as you may be surprised how small the actual frame is.On Blu Ray discs the picture is stunning, and on 3D discs again I was massively impressed - I didn't buy it for 3D and was very sceptical of the format, but having watched the Wimbledon final and a couple of 3D Blu Rays I've definitely warmed to it. The standard def upscaling is good, some channels better than others and the Freeview HD channels all look excellent. There is also a game mode for playing xbox/ps3 which reduces the gaming delay although I have to say I didn't really notice it when playing without it.This is the same panel as the D8000, but is a couple of hundred pounds cheaper - the frame isn't quite as good looking but there's not much in it. Throw in Internet access via Wi-Fi (no dongle needed), a truly excellent Smart Hub system for navigating content and downloading apps as well as a generous list of inputs and you have a television which definitely justifies the price tag.

4Stunning tv set
By Anna D
Purchased this tv locally due to delivery problems to the Channel Islands. The tv is a marvel to look at and a stunning design, The set will require the picture to be callibrated (overlookers .com) tried these settings and worked well.Once done the picture is exellent in standerd and Simpily mind blowing wIth really true like pictures ( no exaggeration ) in Hi definition and Blue Ray.I also have a Samsung le 46 750 about 18 months old which has a very good picture but this tv is a notch up.There is a slight bleeding of white light at the corners, but this only really evident in really dark or near black scenes. My only gripe with the tv is the screen is very reflective indeed,if you have a window that will be behind you and opposite to the tv i would imagine you will have problems, if your room as a lot of natural light i dont think this set would be for you.Web browsing is ok but can be slow, a quarty keyboard remote control would have been a nice touch, but does not come supplied.Samsung market this set as a Smart tv, dont confuse this with a Smart phone, because this does not even come close, you can do most of the things just seems a tad long winded the majority of the apps available i dont think will be ever used by myself or the family only time will tell, it's after all tv not a Pc. Cant comment on the 3d as i did not buy the set for this purpose. On the whole in my opinion is with out doubt the best led set on the market today, not cheap but you do get what you pay for,a simply stunning piece of kit for your hard earned cash.Would i go out and buy this set? ( which i have because i needed a tv) no, if you can wait until March or April when Samsung will bring out thier 1212 models which will see a further price drop.

5Samsung LED UE55D7000 Vs Panasonic Plasma Viera TX-P50GT30B
By MacBal
I had a Sony LCD (KDL-L32MRX1) for more than 7 years which died on the Christmas eve and so I bought a Panasonic Plasma 50" GT30 Panasonic Smart VIERA TX-P50GT30B 50-inch Full HD 1080p 3D 600Hz Internet-Ready Plasma TV with Freeview HD and Freesat HD (Installation Recommended)as it came with a good bundle - Panasonic Blue Ray BT210, 5yr warranty, 2 3D glasses and Avatar 3D blue ray. But, I had to exchange it for Samsung LED Samsung UE55D7000 55 -inch LCD 1080 pixels 800 Hz TVas I could not stand the fan noise. There are no direct comparission between these 2 models which are the top TVs of 2011. Hope this helps if you are not sure which one to buy.Design and Build quality:Panasonic TVs have come a long way in design department. But, Samsung LED is a delight to the eyes. With only 5mm bezel and glass frame, you get pictures almost from edge to edge which gives you the illusion (especially in the night) that the pictures are floating in air. It is so light and occupies lesser space compared to 50" Plasma and so ideal for fixing on the wall. The late D8000 models have a still smaller frame. Build quality is good for both the TVs.Video:I am not going to talk about which is better as it comes down to personal choice. Panasonic's default Picture settings are very good. Very good to view action scenes with no lag at all. Picture mode has extra settings like THX, Photo and Professional which you can calibrate. Samsung's default Picture settings are not that good but once you tune to your taste, the picture quality is mind blowing. It has 4 picture modes - Dynamic, Standard, Natural and Movie. All the modes are customisable. In the Natural mode you have advanced settings to reduce the juddering, clouding etc., Movie mode is fully calibratable (RGB settings etc.,) and you can get these settings by just googling. These customisations are to individual sources, meaning you have different settings of same mode (e.g:Natural)for your TV or Blue ray or games or USB etc.,3D:Both TVs do very good upscaling of 2D to 3D. Watching BBC nature documentaries in 3D and even photos and home video in 3D is amazing. Avatar is the bench mark to test the 3D of your television. Samsung has loads of free 3D content in its app. Pansonics glasses use Infra red technology while Samsung uses blutooth which is better as you wont loose connection when you move your head away from TV and it automatically switches off if there is no 3D feed.Audio:The inbuilt speakers are good to watch normal TV programmes on both the TVs. But, I would recommend watching HD programmes and movies with your home theatre system. It is amazing how Samsung managed to put such decent speakers in a TV which has same thickness as that of your laptop!Internet:Panasonic GT30 does not have inbuilt wi-fi but it is wi-fi ready meaning you need to buy a USB dongle. The internet connection on Panasonic was a bit temperamental and was not connecting to the internet all the time (I connected mine with ethernet). Samsung has inbuilt wi-fi and picked up the wi-fi straight away. If your router has a WPS push button, then you dont even need to enter your key. The smart Hub is much more advanced than Panasonic. You have a full browser (but cant watch videos as it does not have flash player). More apps are available than Panasonic. A 3D app is available where you could see lots of free short 3D films in the following categories: Kids, Music, Sports, Trailers, Documentaries etc., Other usual apps are Love Film (not available in Panasonic), You tube, Picassa, Twitter, FB etc., Only demand TV available on both the TVs is BBC iPlayer.Streaming:I use Sony Play Station Media Server (free beta version) to stream movies, pictures and music from my Mac Book to my Samsung. (I dont even have a PS). The UI is not that good, but it does the job without having to connect with cables. Panasonic gives the option to stream via Twonkey media server from Windows PC. I did not try it.Negatives:Panasonic Plasmas have an awful fan noise. You could get loads of information on this on the net and it is present in GT30 and VT30 models. It is a shame as no professional review mentions about this. I went to a local show room where they had a 55" VT30 Vieira in a sound proof room and I was able to recognise the noise immediately when the TV was switched on. I was able to hear it all the time at my home and it was annoying. It was like watching the TV with a projector. I would strongly recommend anyone buying this plasma to visit a sound proof room or one of your friends who have this TV before buying. You cannot appreciate this noise in the showrooms.Samsung LED does not have any noise at all. Edge LEDs like Samsung have the bleeding/clouding issues but you notice it only when the TV is completely dark (waiting for the feed) at night time. I hardly notice it when watching dark scenes in movies in the blue ray. But you can adjust the settings to reduce this bleed. I feel watching the actions scenes are slightly better with plasma. Dont get carried away with 800hz rates as this does not mean anything. In LED you still get some lag in the motion but again you could adjust the settings to please your eyes. Mine has the juddering (shaking) as mentioned in this forum and it happens once in half an hour or so and lasts for a fraction of second. You wont even notice it unless you know about it. Again you can adjust the settings to reduce juddering.I retained my Panasonic BT 210 which works beautifully with the Samsung. Once you load the disc, the TV automatically picks up the source and you could control the Panasonic BD with Samsung TV remote as it supports 'Any net'. Once you change the source, Panasonic BD goes back to standby. Conclusion: Both are good TVs but Samsung LED will cost you at least 50% more. Fan noise is really awful with Panasonic plasma. Samsung is good in the design, video quality, internet, streaming and compatibility with other devices. You could get more info on the Samsung TV on Amazon's US Site.

5Samsung... the clear winner.
By Bertie Buggerington
Let me start by saying I was obsessive in my search for a new TV and compared a great many brands and models in various stores and gave several assistants headaches, I'm sure. Well after all, spending a fair old wedge on a TV is a considered decision at the best of times, but even more so in these times of austerity. Who knows when I'll be able to upgrade again. The Samsung UE40D6100 stood out from all the TV's we saw in its class and price bracket. For a while we were looking at an equivalent Sony model, and as a 2D performer it was fine. However, it fell flat on its backside when it came to 3D, with noticeable crosstalk and ghosting artefacts that were quite off-putting. You don't need to be an expert market analyst to notice that Sony has been haemorrhaging money from its Playstation arm of the business for a while now, and to me it is clearly cutting costs elsewhere to patch up the leak. All my previous TV's for many years have been Sony, and this is the first time I've had to jump ship. No such issues with the 3D performance of the Samsung, at least no more than is to be expected from Active 3D technology as a whole, but I have yet to see any annoyingly obvious crosstalk or ghosting on this set when the 3D source itself is decent. One or two of the videos on the Samsung Explore 3D app were no great shakes, but that was the source material and not the set. On my Alice in Wonderland 3D Blu-ray, when 3D is allowed to get down and show you its funky stuff, the set performed more than admirably. Of course the set's 200hz refresh rate helps in this department. We also found the 2D performance to be better than the Sony (and other brands) in this price bracket. I should add there seems to be some ongoing debate in the AV community about whether or not the Samsung series 6 is offering full HD when in 3D mode, with some claiming the resolution is lowered in 3D mode, and these people have been having a tit-for-tat with Samsung over the issue, but all I can say is it looks good and does not ghost and crosstalk like many other sets we saw, including the Sony in the same price bracket. Just do yourself a favour and go in store and let your eyes be the judge. It is a big purchase, so be your own judge. My words are just a guide. This is a series 6 Samsung, so it is definitely not low end. I'd say it was on the first rung of the ladder on the high end side of Samsung, and the features prove that out. Feature wise, it is very close to the series 7 sets... only series 8 breaks away from it by any significant length. The only major and noticeable difference on series 7 is the in-built Wifi - this set requires a proprietary Samsung Wifi dongle, but if like me you're connecting via Ethernet then that is no great loss. The other feature lacking from series 7 is there is no 2D to 3D converter here, meaning this set will only play native 3D source material and will not convert 2D to 3D. But as there is a qualitative difference between native 3D and converted 2D to 3D, this is not something I was concerned about. Besides, there is plenty of real 3D stuff around...including games, Sky channels and 3D Blu-ray to make the converter a non-issue for me. This set is also a Smart TV, so there's a great many online features and applications, such as the really helpful 'Explore 3D' app, which is a selection of free 3D videos... ranging from 3 minute movie trailers to entire 45 minute documentaries. This gave us a chance to use the glasses we bought while I waited for my first 3D Blu-ray titles to arrive. There is also a host of social networking apps, including Facebook and Twitter, as well as Youtube, Google maps, the obligatory BBC iPlayer... amongst a growing list of other things. The picture is brilliant for an LED. The people that speak the 'What Home Cinema' gobbledygook tech language would no doubt pick holes, but then they'll do that for ALL LCD/LED panels... those guys only entertain plasma technology it seems. The rest of us mere mortals can only go off our eyes, and mine are extremely pleased with what they see here. My last telly was a plain Sony Bravia LCD and I couldn't believe the advances that have been made by implementing LED lighting into LCD technology (there's no such thing as an LED panel by the way, they're plain old LCD panels with LED lights behind them instead of the old style bulb lighting). This has led to vastly superior colours and contrast performance, and while blacks and contrast can never rival a plasma, LED/LCD's of this generation have certainly narrowed the gap. I'm well impressed.Sound was a lot better than I imagined it would be. Panels are forever getting thinner, and that means smaller and shallower speaker diaphragms, but I was impressed with the sound after I tinkered with the settings. Of course the true cinema buff will want external speakers of some kind.As regards connections, there are four HDMI ports, two USB ports, one RGB enabled SCART adapter socket (for use with the supplied adapter... as the panels are so thin these days, they have to use an intermediary adapter to accommodate bulky old SCART), one component adapter socket (for use with the included component adapter), one PC/DVI input, a SPDIF digital optical audio output and an Ethernet network socket and a headphone socket. As regards the two USB ports, one of them apparently supports a feature than allows you to record from the TV's tuner on to a USB storage device, in the manner of a PVR. I have yet to try this feature, but it is certainly intriguing and something I will definitely look into. We've had the set for two weeks now and the only surprises we've had as we have dug further into its rich list of features have been good ones. Therefore I am awarding this TV five shiny and well deserved stars. Thanks for reading.

5Great TV
By Stvoritel
Just few points, which would help me, when I was buying TV- Yes, 200Hz makes the picture looking great and its must have.- It comes with SCART converter, so you CAN use SCART devices- Don`t listen to people, who say, that sound is bad. Yes, you can`t make a disco with this TV, but it`s OK for day to day watching TV. Later you will buy bigger basic speakers for about 20GBP (or home cinema). Sound is equal to the size of speakers.- It has LAN connector, so you dont need to buy WiFi (I doubt the data speed)- Price/Quality ratio is amazing- Copy HD movie and some short films of different formats onto memory stick, go to shop and test few TVs. This one was playing all of them.- Samsung is well known for amazing picture- No buzzing noise, when you mute the sound you dont hear anything.- Black colour is very very dark, nearly 100% black- Remote control is easy to use (believe me, that is important)I wasn`t expecting that much from this TV.One thing again... 200Hz will give you amazing and and superb picture. Go to SONY shop, where they play HD movies on TVs and check the difference. Currys feed their TVs just with low quality signal so you won`t see the difference.

5UE40D6100 Review
By Steven
I'd been looking for a new TV for a while and was glad to see the release of the new 2011 (D) Models, especially the 6000 series. I was cautious to start with as there are few reviews and very few forum comments about these TVs, but having looked at the specifications, which I won't bore you with here, and the general good feedback of the quality of the Samsung range I was confident enough to take a gamble with this TV. I can honestly say that I've very happy that I've chosen the correct one for me.I placed the order with Amazon on the Thursday night, which unfortunately meant that I missed the cut off time for me to receive it Friday, however it arrived prompt on the Saturday morning as promised. The TV is very easy to set-up and is surprisingly light after having a very old and heavy CRT. The stand is good quality and very sturdy. The set-up process takes you through a number of screens which are very easy to follow and takes just a few minutes. It will auto-tune your Free-view channels which takes a further 5 minutes, but once this is done you're ready to start using it.The quality of the panel is excellent and the picture looks crystal clear, this, along with the 200Hz refresh makes the picture look very smooth. I've seen many people complain that LED bleeding or clouding can be present in some models but I've not seen any evidence here. As this is classed as a high end model I was not expecting these issues anyway.I was concerned that there may be too much image processing which sometimes results in a very artificial picture, but even when up scaling from SD the picture seems very polished. For those very fast action scenes you can very rarely see some evidence that the images are being processed but it's very difficult to notice and you really have to look very hard to spot it. In no way is the enjoyment or viewing experience affected, and by changing the settings you can eliminate this entirely. There are numerous features and enhancements to allow you to customise the picture and after spending just a short time playing with the settings there appears to be the ability to customise everything to your own taste. The `standard' picture and sound settings I find are quite balanced and provide a near perfect setting for me.I was surprised at the quality of the sound. As my previous TV was a CRT (with some very good speakers) I was expecting to be looking for a home entertainment system to make up for the lose in quality, but I'm very happy that I can save my money. There are a number of modes to suit your preferences, and the `Movie' mode is particularly impressive. Again this can be customised to your own tastes. One of the reasons I chose this TV was due to the SMART TV, and although it's still in its infancy, it looks like it has a lot of potential. There are some very good applications, especially video applications and a whole host of games (which I've not tried). There are only a limited number of popular applications at the moment but the ones they do have are of good quality and are easy to use. The only problem I've experienced is the ability to type in text when searching. It works in a similar way to a mobile phone, but the remote doesn't have the letters printed on the buttons so you have to keep looking at the screen. I believe that there is a remote keyboard which can be used but I will not be purchasing one.The ability to play videos from a USB drive or an external HDD is very impressive and I've not had any compatibility issues with any of the files, but I know that I've not tried them all. The quality is excellent although it does depend on the source file of course. The files run very smoothly and I've not seen any juddering or buffering. The All-share feature is very good, however the software needs some work. I found that it would take some time to add all your photos and videos and on the first attempt it crashed. It took a while to find out what was happening as it doesn't have a progress bar, or indicate if is still working. After turning off the service and switching it back on, it finished what it was doing and the TV picked it up straight away. You do have to make sure that you go to the sharing tab and give permission for the TV to access your files. This could have been clearer. Its worth noting that this is an issue with the PC software not the TV.The TV does not come with 3D glasses or a HDMI cable so they will have to be purchased separately. It does have a converter so you can use a SCART cable with this model. In summary the quality of this TV is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone. Apart from the ability to type in the search boxes I'm struggling to find any faults, but that in itself is not a major issue. I haven't tested the 3D as don't have the glasses. When looking at the various, similarly priced models in the shops, this model did stand out from the rest, but I would always advise you see the TV before making a purchase.

Just to say, if you're looking for a tv stand that is different, and has plenty of storage space, then this is the tv stand for you. When I ordered it, I wasn't sure of how it would look with a tv on, but my mind was quickly put at ease - the whole thing - stand and tv, looks absolutely amazing. The walnut colour of the drawers and the black glass work well together - well worth the extra pennies - altho you do get what you pay for.

5Samsung... the clear winner.
