Heat Spreaders fell off! Had to chase up for refund.

The ram chips I recieved were in a thin, moulded, plastic container that was in a flimsy plastic bag. That was worrying but then when I took the chips out of the bag the heatspreaders fell off two of them and wouldn't go back on properly. To top it all off I couldn't get my system to boot, an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 motherboard with i7 Ivybridge CPU. The ASUS tech support website informed me my errors were due to faulty ram chips, although I was dubious of this (all four being faulty) I followed their advice and returned them to Komputerbay and got replacements. As it happens the ASUS motherboard needed it's bios flashing in order to bring it up to Ivybridge standards, by which time I had the replacement ram chips from Crucial which did work.. so I was never able to verify whether these chips were in fact faulty. However the fact that the heatspreaders fell off and the fact that I had to chase up my refund, and then subsequent postage costs, and was never re-imbursed for a padded envelope (something they instisted I had to send the chips back to them in, despite them not sending them to me in that condition in the first place) I believe justifies only 3 stars for Komputerbay on this occasion.

100% Satisfaction

Having purchased other memory cards from other manufacturers/suppliers I have to say I am totally satisfied with this product. Getting 2 cards with a total of 8GB for the price I paid was great and they have proved to be the most reliable and best quality so far. One of the cards in the first pack I ordered was faulty. I used the returns process through Amazon and the item was returned straight away, got my refund straight away, no messing. Ordered another pack and they are working fine. So overall product and supplier get 100% from me and I would definitely recommend both to others.
