Bargain entry into the world of professional publishing

For the price of bargain basement DTP software, the education edition of QuarkXPress 9 gives you access -- providing you qualify -- to the latest heavy-duty professional publishing software. Although an education edition, this is not stripped down or limited.If you are considering a job in journalism, publications or design, hands-on ability to use QuarkXpress will significantly boost your chances of getting the vital interview in what has become a very competitive market. This becomes especially important when attending an interview in which there is a test or exercise -- as an employer, I've several times sent an otherwise promising candidate home after they stared blankly at a Mac for half an hour before sheepishly admitting that they had 'tried Quark once or twice at college'.In terms of features, QuarkXPress 9 has everything you would expect at the high end, including a number of powerful and esoteric enterprise publishing features such as Job Jackets which are worth mastering if you are looking for a job at a publishing house. It also has reasonable html and Flash publishing facilities, though if you have access to student editions of Dreamweaver and Flash professional you should be looking at these rather than trying to achieve what you need in Quark.As far as value for money is concerned, the education edition is going for around 15% of the price of the full edition. Buying now and upgrading to the next version later will be a lot cheaper than waiting until you are no longer a student and buying the full-priced product.

Stylish and efficient

Not the cheapest portable hob, but in my view the best value for proper kitchen use ( ie it may not be the best one for camping ). It has a stylish modern design with very clean lines - with no knobs or other external controls. It is very versatile to use, and easy to control with only 5 intuitive touch controls, plus a timer. It has a wide range of settings and the usual 2 modes - you either control the power or the temperature. It is powerful and fast at high power, but in low power the hob cycles on and off, so it is easy to "simmer".

whilst waiting for a new kitchen... this product hit the spot

My house is a building site with no kitchen! My wife found this induction hob perfect for doing our cooking (make sure you get pans that work with induction hobs).We have survived for 4 months with a kitchen the size of 1 square yard: a micro wave, a kettle and this great little piece of kit. It's easy to use, reliable, safe and a beautiful design, what more can I say, I'm so glad I chose this one after reading the specs and reviews of all of the other available products!

I wanted to treat myself to a new watch that was suitable for every day use and evening wear and I couldn't have picked a better watch.It looks lovely on and the crystals catch the light beautifully,without it looking too "blingy"The watch face is quite big which I love but this wouldn't be for everyone so consider this before buying.I purchased this at a fab price too,so keep your eye out for reductions.

I have bought this for my wife. It is a beautifully built watch, with very fine details, quality materials and it looks fashionable as well. Having owned a Guess watch myself for over 2 years now, I am very happy with the built quality and this doesn't derogate from the rule. The delivery was fast and reliable, only taking 3 days , as I didn't need the express delivery ... so for a standard delivery, it is what you would expect. They use DPD as a courier, who in my opinion are quite reliable, sending you a text message to arrange the delivery, allowing you to choose an alternative day if necessary and on the day, they even send a text message with a 1h window to let you know when the delivery is going to take place. All in all, excellent product and you can not go wrong with choosing this as a gift.

Very nice looking watch indeed. Got it for my sister and she was 'over the moon'. Looks really nice on her. Fairly large dial on it but is very much in fashion and the size of it does not look out of place on her wrist which is not thick by any means.

Looks fantastic

This light looks fantastic. Good solid standing base and wide lamp shade. I choose this lamp because it was different from anything else that I saw on the market and I am not disappointed with my choice. The switch is on the cable at floor level, so you can switch it off & on with your foot. My reason for 4 stars was due to the finish of the lamp shade. There is a join in the fabric which isn't perfect. You can, however, turn it to the back so that it is out of sight, but still, this is not what I would expect at this price point. I still love the look of it though.

Had to laugh when I read the review from O Aloku. I was exactly the same 2 weeks ago, having tested my wonderfully comfy camp bed in the lounge. However.... I hadn't accounted for the fact that because the 'bedroom' sections of the tent taper upwards (we have a 4-man / 2 bedroom tent) and the campbed is of course not flat on the ground, it wouldn't fit in without ripping the side of the tent. So please when you're measuring for this campbed, don't just measure the groundsheet dimensions and assume the bed will fit. Had to loan my new luxury campbed to a friend and borrow his airbed. He reported a great night's sleep although the feet of the bed almost went through the groundsheet once weight was on them so we recommend taking coasters for the feet to rest on!

Has a quality "will last" feeling to it.A little difficult to put-up for one person and a pity it lacks a "lock-in-place" clip/plug? when UP.!??A great value price and serves its purpose admirably with a Vango DLX 7.5cm mat & double sleeping bag.I am delighted with this purchase.

Very Solid

I needed a camp bed and I was done with airbeds forever! I have not used this yet but had it up in my sitting room and padded it with sleeping bag and a blanket, so comfy! love it ! I am so excited, i know i will be camping happy this year! :)Now that I have used this item, i can safely say that the review by NB was dead right. O yes, i got to camp and because I had a 4 man tent, the bed ripped my tent fabric. I used it anyways because it was too late to do anything about it and it was really comfortable ,although i must mention that where the two beds are joined in the middle is so hard and can get really uncomfortable at night so no rolling over to the middle for this bed. All in all, good buy cos i am still so done with air beds. I also have a bigger tent for this year (6 man tent) so hopefully, it will be ok, fingers and toes crossed.

it's suprisingly good

This is a pretty good quality bit of kit for the price. It folds down well into itself for easy carrying/storage. The stools are rather on the small side but lets face it - its for going camping with, not eating sunday lunch. I've actually kept it in the house as it's also usefull when friends come round for the kids to eat at. The table has two heights which are both sensibly placed. The carry pocket on the edge is only big enough for cutlery etc though.

Well what can I say. What a great product, firstly arrived from amazon two days early, well done amazon!. Was surprised by the size of the machine, not too big and very nice in a black polished shell. Plenty of adaptors depending on which country you are using the plug for, instruction guidance and a cd with a user manual on it. HDMI cable included so didn't need to buy one and the USB cable to connect to computer. Computer had no problem finding the device found straight away and it's as easy as it says just drag and drop onto the LaCie and you can add your files to it.Very quiet device hardly hear it and has a cool blue light at the front of the device to let u know it is working. Playback is very good on the device of video footage. Plays every file so far that I have chucked at it, obviously more files you have the longer it takes for playback to be done, but this is merely seconds. You can also control the volume and mute your tv with the LaCie remote control as it works through the hdmi. 2tb hard drive is plenty of space for all your files and I'm tempted to get one for my sons room, it works that well. I was sceptical about buying this after my apple tv 1st gen died on me, but I wish I bought this in the first place.The device doesn't get that hot either, had it on for 9 hours straight and it's hardly warm.My only negatives is that you can link it to the Internet, but then you can buy a Internet version and also there are no cover art options for the film files. I think a way round this though is to save a picture file with the film file and then place them in a folder together, haven't tried this yet though.Overall very good product and very pleased that I bought it.

Needed a hard drive fast, and seeing as this had gotten good reviews i decided to try it out. And i must say, it exceeds every expectation i had.Works silently, no heating problem, upscales all my videos, feels/looks/sounds great!I have nothing but praise for this piece of equipment, i am looking to buying a second one, i just hope they can start making 5TB sets, that would be awesome!!!!!Thanks Lacie!

Amazing Much?

Ok before I start on what's good I let you know the only bad point. If you are from the UK dont expect a UK plug it will come with a multitude of adapters but no English 3 pin plug so had to buy an adapter. Apart from that This unit is amazing, has played all formats I have put on it including some that didn't work on my Xbox. From what I have tested it has played AVI MKV WMV MP3 and all DivX variants. Surprisingly quite unless you leave it on a desk in which case you can here it vibrate I just place it on a plastic mat and its fine. All in All very Happy
