Does this replace the dicontinued Pronto?
By Clare
Firstly, this works. And my family prefer it to the Pronto despite the greater sophistication of the pronto. Once the app is loaded the response time is fast, and given that all the buttons for whatever you are doing are all scrollable on one screen it is easy to find what you want quickly. Keys are clean and text shows up well and you can put them neatly on the screen. It is easy to rearrange the buttons, and you can fit quite a few buttons without the need to scroll. It was easy to teach commands from a remote control, and also from the old pronto (particularly useful when I wanted to make a button take not just one command but a sequence of commands which I could do on the Pronto, but not apparently on the RedEye without making it an activity - which is a list rather than a screen of buttons). For example I give a button to a TV channel and have all the ones I use frequently on a screen rather than accessing them from the guide. I could not do this on the RedEye if I had not already got a button programmed on my pronto which can then teache the RedEye button the relevant sequence. I will keep my Pronto for this reason alone until it finally dies - unless RedEye gives us this facility in the future. It takes some time to programme, but is easy to do and did not require any real debugging - its more about working out what screen layouts work best given how we use our kit.In general very pleased. So are my family who can have their own remote on their own phone. Easy for us all to use.
