Fritz Range Extender

Easy setup and works very well, certainly has extended my range and speed in wireless mode. This product chosen to specifically to complement existing Fritz 7390. Perhaps a little pricey for what it is, although does seem to be a quality product.Pros: Very easy setup once I found the instruction manual in english, minutes only. It was very slow going when I had to use a translation program as I run a Mac based network and I was unable to access the unit by name 'fritz.repeater' and had to locate and use IP address. So far great results and stability.Cons: Only works on either 5GHz or 2.4 GHz at a any time, cannot do both frequencies at once. Emits more interference than Fritz 7390, must be kept clear of other electronics e.g. T.V's. This is mentioned in the instructions. but may interfere with optimal positioning of the unit particularly if you wish to use the ethernet function for home theatre. Changes with software updates to 7390 and repeater seem to have created new MAC addressees for some items in my network. Solution or exact cause not understood.Overall product recommended on the basis of ease of intergration with my network and performance upgrade.Regards

Need a German-English Dictionary !

I bought one of these from Avides. Delivery to the UK was quick and it seems to work well.However, I was surprised to find that the manual and user interface were only in German.An English version of the manual is available on the AVM.de website as, is an "international" firmware upgrade.However, it seems that you you have to have the international version of the product for the firmware to load and this is German-market only.I was supplied with AVM part number 2000-2499, the international version seems to be 2000-2500.

Easy setup, though make sure you get correct version

After purchasing a Fritz!Box 7390 I decided to buy one of these as a replacement to an older Buffalo bridge. The Fritz!WLAN 300E was very simple to setup. Once it's connected it is worth checking it is connecting to the correct wireless network band if you run on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. I use mine as a bridge rather than repeater and have a 5 port gigabit switch connected to the ethernet port. It works fine with multiple PC's, and a HP JetDirect Print Server connected to it.I also purchased mine from AVIDES, it was shipped with a convertor to connect to a UK power socket however the interface is in German as noted by a previous reviewer. After contacting AVM support there is no way to apply English firmware to this version of the device so it's worth checking that the version being shipped is an English version. The PDF manual doesn't cover all the functions and options on the Repeaters menu. You can get around this by using Google Translate to translate the German help pages (unable to paste link here as Amazon doesn't allow it).Based on the simplicity of setup and performance I would recommend this device.
