Excellent TV
By Chunky
Bought this for a bedroom, and it compares well with the two high end Panasonic Freesat plasma TV's we have downstairs. The Tosh was very attractively priced compared with the equivalent Panasonic or Sony. It was a bit of a risk after having to return a previous Toshiba to Amaazon because of a broken switch after only 4 months (apparently a very common problem) but this model has a different design of switch so will be okay. Beware of buying any of the cheaper Toshiba models though. It is ridiculously thin and light and has a good range of inputs. The thin bezel means it is much smaller than the TV it replaced and for a while it looked a little small on the wall. The internet connection works well with Youtube, iPlayer, etc. and it is not too fiddly with the remote. The only drawback is that it is slow to skip forward or backward on iPlayer, but I suspect this is more a problem with the BBC than the telly. I've not tried the USB or HDMI inputs yet, but wouldn't expect any problems. The picture is very good but we have to run it in Dynamic mode for it to look lively enough, the other modes all look a bit drab. Freeview HD looks good, even though it is not broadcast at the full 1080p the TV can handle. The tuner is very good. We live in an area where the Freeview signal is very low power until switchover next month and reception tends to be very flakey, but this TV handles a poor signal better than our other TV's or the tuner card in my PC. The on-screen menu system and programme guide is as good as I've seen anywhere and much better than other Toshiba TV's I've seen. The only mild complaint is that the remote control is a mixture of soggy, non-tactile buttons (for volume, programme numbers, etc.) and short stroke clicky buttons for the navigation functions like skip forward and back in iPlayer. Neither of them has as good a feel as on some other makes, but at least the buttons are well laid out and we've not needed the manual once. Good job too, because you only get a very small installation guide and have to look the maunal up on line. Oh, and the sleep timer doesn't count down on screen so you get caught out, but this is really a minor jibe.

Best point is Freeview HD
By C. Richardson
The best thing about this TV is the Freeview HD tuner. So many TVs are still being sold with just Freeview tuners, and for very little (if any) more cost you can get Freeview HD. If like me you just watch your telly as it comes down the aerial, no fancy Sky boxes or the like, then you can get BBC1, ITV1, CH4, and BBC HD all in lovely high definition. OK it doesn't make a huge difference, but you can tell, and its good for watching sport.I'm wondering whether to buy the Toshiba dongle to get youtube and iplayer on it, has anyone any comments to make on this experience?Overall this is an excellent TV, picture, sound and setup all great. Only downside is only one scart socket, so if your extra boxes only have scart cables you can only connect one. Most modern boxes do have hdmi cables I think, and there's room for four of those. Use them and you'll get high def pictures on the screen.

Great value LED TV for the price
By Mr. John Wilmot
Have had this TV less than a week , but very impressed with the features. I bought it because of the built-in Freeview HD tuner. I retire in less than two years , and will no longer be able to afford my Virgin cable subscription. So I will still be able to enjoy HD on Freeview. As with my previous Toshiba TV , sound quality isn't great , but I play it through a Sony Home Cinema system. The Audio Return Channel feature on HDMI1 means I don't need separate audio cables any more , and the Regza-link feature means if I play a DVD , the TV instantly switches to the correct HDMI input. If I turn the TV on or off , it powers the Sony system on or off too !Picture is very bright and clear , but out of all the preset modes , "Standard" seems to be best. However , you can manually adjust the picture , which I did by turning down the contrast and the backlight.I haven't used the i-player internet feature , and I probably won't need to , as the Sony Home cinema system already has it. So I won't be buying the Toshiba dongle.Overall this is an excellent TV, HD picture is great , and SD picture both on Freeview and Cable are clear and interference free. Have played back several standard DVDs , and a couple of Blu-ray DVDs , and haven't noticed any motion blur , which apparently can be a problem with so called "budget tvs" in this price range. I know it's early days , but I would definitely recommend buying this TV.
