Tough little engine
By Lars Ilsxe
There is so much fuss on the Internet concerning the power of these electrical motors. I've actually given up as nobody has a decent and useable answer to the obvious question: Does it deliver enough power to be used in my boat instead of a petrol driven? The answer is yes - if you can accept a steady speed of 5-6 km/hr in complete and magical silence. Note, this is the case with an inflatable boat as well as a 400 kg boat - no difference in speed between the two weight differences but maybe in power consumption, as I have not yet tested that.No hassle with the installation as it weighs nothing compared to a petrol variant. The necessary battery is the heaviest part - I've used a 75 Ah and gives enough power for 2-3 hours of full speed! Please search for my explanatory videos at YouTube under the user MrFirelakedk where you can see the motor in action and get a sense of it's power.
