Strong Chess Computer

I have played a few chess computers in my time. My first was a Fidelity unit back in the mid Eighties. It was, like most chess computers of that era very weak. It would not play sacrifices, it stuck rigidly to the few openings it knew and took a very long time to think up a pretty poor move.This machine is much, MUCH better. It does make sacrifices, It plays a very good positional game and can even throw in a impressive combination or two. Provided of course you put in one of the higher grown up levels and allow it a few minutes thinking time between moves.So if you fancy a good challenging opponent and like a real chess game with real pieces rather than virtual ones; then this machine might be a good bet. I think this unit may be one of the strongest of a limited number of Chess Computers still available to buy, with a verified Elo of 2022! Either way it seems to play very well.It gets a star knocked off because thanks to a glitch it needs to be reset before it can play properly again after entering the 'fun' levels. Even if you do this by accident.It gets a star put back on again for being a solid and very well put together item.Recommended. Especially for aficionados and collectors
