I must admit I haven't used other dehydrators, and most of my raw food friends use the excalibur, It has a very simple design with the fan and heating element at the back of the unit which delivers a constant stream of heated air over the products being dehydrated. I have found it very effective, and it seems to heat everything very evenly. ie everything is ready at the same time. I had one friend who had a circular dehydrator with a fan and heating element at the bottom, which is liable to get juciy bits falling into it. As a dyslexic person the Excalibur makes obvious sense from the design alone. Lot's of good recipes online

I have had my dehydrator for a couple of years now and love it.It dries things evenly and has a range of temperature settings. Most recently I have started making kale crackers and other raw dehydrated foods - and the Excalibur excels at this.One disadvantage of this product is its size - but then if you want to be able to dehydrate a load of stuff all at once then there is no way around this dilemma, and the capacity of the Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator is amazing.It is also slightly noisy - but again this is down to its function and it is no more noisy than a fan oven.Overall, I think it is a great product and I would quickly recommend it to a friend who wanted to start dehydrating their own foods.
