IIyama 24 inch HDMI monitor
By Sam
Monitor was delivered on time and in perfect condition and well boxed. Dead easy to set up. just connect the base using a single thumb screw connection, and plugged it in, and monitor does the rest and shows the display.IT worked with my blu-ray DVD too directly using HDMI without the need for computer just connecting one single cable.Monitor even detects whether you are using the video recorder/ DVD player/ DH tuner or your computer. No need to use any menus, but you have manual controls too through well designed touch controls that never gets damaged/wear out.Resolutoin and brighness, contrast , colours everything is maually as well as automatically adjustable. You have control over all elements of display. I have had many displays from top manufacturers but this one is the best one.I think The display is perfect and suitable for any application - it's so good that makes it suitable for reading texts, games, waching DVDs etc. You won't need a TV licence for it either.Being an LED screen it is very thin and light too that makes it very portable. HIghly recommended.

Competent Monitor
By Yousuf A. Jarrah
I spent a long time researching monitors to replace my old 19" LG Multisync that has served me well for years. I chose the Iiyama based on price as well as its VA panel (for better colour quality when editing photos).Out of the box, the monitor was very easy to assemble and as it comes with all the necessary bits (mains lead, VGA and DVI cables included),was up and running in minutes. It has a good sharp picture (if a little bright) and no dead pixels. However, there are a few niggles. The letterbox format of the screen is deceptive. I thought I was "upgrading" from a 19" monitor, but to my disappointment, the vertical picture dimension of this 24" screen is exactly the same as that of a 4:3 ratio 19" screen so all I have gained is a strip along the side, which I'm not at all happy about. Fine for watching movies (which I do on my TV not at my desk, so pointless), pretty useless for anything else. Not necessarily iiyama's fault, as most modern monitors sport this frankly absurd geometry, but worth mentioning as you may wish to go for a 26" model for extra height. Given the fact that the monitor is actually quite small (though wide), the stand is not really adequate as it has no height adjustment. Finally it comes with no manual; this has to be downloaded from the website. You may need this to figure out how to adjust the screen, as the the touch panel controls arepoorly and confusingly labelled. All in all, a decent enough monitor, OK for most purposes but it loses points for the above reasons. Reasonable value (I bought it discounted... it would loose another star at at full RRP).
