Product Description
The Tannoy HTS101 combines Tannoy's legendary audio skill with discreet style. Although paying close attention to style, the HTS101 is first and foremost about sound quality. Take a look at the small satellite speakers and you'll see a build integrity that's rare at this level. First off are the cabinets. Rather than use plastic or metal, Tannoy use wood - just like their full size speakers. By using wood, the cabinets offer low resonance and therefore create a more accurate, less tinny sound. Secondly, the HTS101 use high quality drive units. Tannoy's titanium WideBand tweeters are already legendary for their incredible detail matched with smooth refinement. Teamed up with this super-tweeter are 75mm paper cones. These are ideal for mid-range material, such as vocals and, like the cabinets, offer a sound free from colouration and distortion. To ensure an even tonality right around the soundstage, the centre speaker uses the same drive units. In this case, though, the centre speaker has twin mid-range units for enhanced dialogue reproduction. Blending seamlessly with these quality satellite speakers is a similarly impressive subwoofer. The HTS101 subwoofer may be larger than average but it uses its bulk to good effect. The substantial housing, 100 watt amplifier and 200mm drive unit combine to give a powerful bass presence. As well as sounding great, the other half of the HTS101's appeal is the discreet, good looks. The compact satellite speakers are easy to position and come with wall brackets. All the speakers, including the subwoofer come finished in a gloss black lacquer - the ideal match for most flat screen TVs and home cinema components. For a home cinema system that offers the ideal blend of style and performance, the Tannoy HTS101 is ahead of the pack.

Simply the best!!!!
By Mr. K. P. Skinner
I set my HTS101 speaker package up today to replace my Onkyo528 package. The first thing to notice was the build and style, very solid structure to each speaker and finished off in nice piano black. Each speaker comes with its own swivel bracket which comes in very handy. As for sound, out of the box sound is clean, punchy and good bass to boot(There not even run in yet). I Have a Yamaha 373 AV Receiver(£219) and IMO match each other very well. I would have no issues recommending this award winning speaker package, yes its not cheap but partnered with a quality budget AV Receiver(i.e yamaha373, Sony820) your not going to be dissapointed.

Excellent speakers
By Dave
After a couple of hours of internet review and comparison research, I concluded these were the best speakers for their price range. After setting up my system, I am very pleased with this product. I didn't realise the speakers were so good that any AV decoder short of about £300 (on offer) will do them no justice. I was recommended the Onkyo TX-NR 609, which I got for £360 on offer. I have no regrets! The only relative bad point(for some, but not I) is it does not come with wires, though personally I'd prefer getting my own quality wires at the lengths I need them.
