My Nas
By mike
The product is fantastic, easy to use and set up, look great too. The wifi set up is simple as is connecting it too all your other devices. It can be a little noisy when it has been running for a while. The only downside is the lack of support offered by Asus and the FTP server was a nightmare to set up, as the "included asus dns site" does not seem to work. Meaning you have to buy one from DYNDNS.com.Other than that, this is a fantastic piece of kit.

Quick and easy to setup, not a bad user interface, could do with a few more advanced file and folder permisssions
By P Brandon
Out the box the unit feels a bit light and plasticy, but then again it is just a plastic box with a board in it.Was easy to fit the two 3TB drives into it.Came setup as JBOD but converted to RAID1 in no time at all im sure it was less than an hour. I upgraded the firmware as advised which again was simple. Not used all the features but iTunes server was failty straight forward apart from iTunes being pants, also setup in WMP as a library simples too.Turn off power management and your drive is always ready. For the money and brand you cant go wrong.

Asus NAS-M25
By Andrew MacDonald
Great NAS product. It comes without any drives installed, so you need to add them yourself. Not a big issue though given the choice and price of drives these days. I loaded it with 2 x 2TB Western Digital Red HDD's, which although not officially recommended on the Asus site, have worked very well indeed. The NAS is easy to use and set-up, and the web GUI easy to administer. I've found transfer speeds to be excellent across my wired and wireless network at home, and can stream 720p HD movies to multiple clients simultaneously. I've used Twonky, and it works well. Haven't used the other apps that it comes with (there aren't many 3rd party apps that are available either).Apps aside, if you want an inexpensive NAS that's fast, quiet and easy to set up and share across you're home network, you won't go far wrong here !
