A Beast of a case

The first thing that has to be said about this chassis, is that it is big. Your first impression, and that of everybody else who lays eyes on it, will be the same, and generally along the lines of "Bloody hell!". The dimensions given on paper are one thing, but in the flesh this thing will make you look like you are trying to compensate for something.Installing hardware is both hard and easy at the same time.Easy due to the vast amount of space you have to work with, unlike most smaller and cramped cases, plus an array of well-placed routing holes.Hard due to the weight of it. Empty, this chassis weighs 15kg. Whilst burly men might scoff at such a weight, after several hours of picking up and turning it around to install your hardware, your arms will be tired.Noteworthy features:1: 3-pin fan header hubs placed at the top and bottom of the case allows you to fully max out with a silly number of fans and adjust the fan speed, as opposed to a logic on/off switch with the fans going mental.2: Despite the unwieldy appearance, removing the front bezel and the top fan grill is rewardingly easy.3: Tons of room. If you want to go full water cooling, and you had enough money to throw at it, you could have Four radiators in this chassis: a 360mm, a pair of 240mm's and a 140mm, with a double-front panel reservoir/pump combo to top it off, plus push/pull fans on all of them if you really wanted to. There's also room for a server motherboard on top of this, if you really wanted one!Getting hard drives in and out can be a bit time consuming, as you have to attach the drive to the cage, and then the cage to the chassis.Despite this, having two seperate and removable hard drive cages gives you many more options for customisation, and the screw holes are made of a sturdy rubber to reduce vibration and noise. Very well thought-out design.However, if you dont want to fiddle with hard drive cages there's an HDD and SDD hotswap docking part on the top - brilliant!As opposed to a chassis which has compartments, you really dont have any tradeoffs with the Elysium. And seeing as you can pick up one of these for less than a HAF X, you'd really have to ask yourself the question 'Would I rather have an over-the-top plastic-encrusted aluminium case with space limitations which I can never use for future upgrades? Or would I rather have a neat looking case with more options than you can shake a stick at, which is made of aluminium and steel, which will last for years and years, and somehow costs less?'One word of warning however; this case begs to be customised. Before long you will feel the need to fill all of that space, add colour and lighting, and various other geeky gadgets. So bear this in mind, as your wallet will gradually get lighter with time!

I bought this case for a number of reasons the main one for the ud7 mobo from gigabyte and to run 3/4 gpus and at the moment i cannot complain about this despite there being some niggling bits about certain minor things which has nothing to do with amazon and the prompt arrival of the case was fantastic it was ordered early hrs on the saturday and it was with my by the monday by 2pm the case it self is very spacious it makes my old nzxt m59 case look like a mushroom. if i took the front of the case off the m59 it would fit inside of the elysium case with no problems what so ever and with its white led's on the fans and the blue led's on the fans it lights the case up a treat maybe in the near future i will try and add some pics.I shall do another review in detail shortly so watch this space.
