great kipling bag

I have this bag in a deep pink colour and I love it! I love the combination between the short grab handles (for quickly picking up the bag or holding it close), and the longer adjustable strap for the the option to put over the shoulder, or lengthen it to put across the chest. In this way it is a very secure bag to hold if in a busy crowded situation: it can be put across the chest and held close by the handle.Like all Kipling bags, this bag is lightweight, machine washable and has all the practical pockets one needs: inside open pockets for phone, pen/pencils or makeup, an extra zippy pocket inside and a key holder on an attached strap . The outside pockets are useful too - I put my mobile in one outside pocket to access it quickly. I use the larger outside flat pocket for paper items. Although I see someone was not happy that a notebook wouldn't fit in it - it is indeed a handbag large enough for a book or Kindle, large wallet, brush and lots of stuff. It is bigger than most Kipling handbags, but not oversized.There is a wide range of colours available in this bag, but since I have a number of neutral colour Kilping bags (black, stone, deep denim, and the cheetah print) I decided to choose this deep pink colour (I forgot the name!) to brighten up my winter wardrobe. It contrasts well with my coats which are khaki green, black, deep purple, dark blue tweed etc.I have had Kipling bags for a number of years and even though I have other bags, I always end up using the Kipling bags on a regular basis since they are so well designed, sturdy and lightweight.

I ordered this bag in black initially, but returned it as it was too similar to my black Jarita.I now have it in Galaxy Green, which is a very unusual colour - when I wear green, it looks blue, and if I wear blue, it looks green! It's actually more of a petrol blue than a true green, in my opinion.The bag is very roomy, and similar to the Jarita in style, however, it comes with a detachable strap and carry handles. The front zipped pocket is longer than that of the Jarita.I am very pleased with this purchase and just wish I could afford to get it in more colours!

Very roomy but........

I love kipling and have lots of bags. I have never had to return one until now. I tend to carry note books, a paperback, make up, my phone and purse etc so thought this would just be another great addition to my collection. The problems are as follows:1 - The grab handles are quite short. You will struggle to hold this bag on your forearm. Also the handles don't have the little leather finish which most kiplings have now.2 - The bag is so spacious but doesn't have any partition in the main compartment so everything is on top of each other. It was annoying because I couldn't easily reach my purse without rummaging and pulling things out.3 - Note books/ Paperbacks will get damaged as you can't keep them apart from other things.4 - You'd need a make up bag. Usually I use one of the compartments but after using the front pockets I just found it a bit awkward.5 - The log zipped pocked at the front isnt lined which I thought was a shame for the price of the bag. I wasn't sure what you use it for so nhever did.The size is good along with the choice of colours but when compared to the follo or fairfax it just didn't seem to be organised enough.
