Warm and smart

I bought this for my husband as a Christmas present and he was very happy with it. It's warm but also reasonably smart, and well finished, so he can use it to go to work. The stile is perhaps on the slim side, so it's a fraction tight around the stomach and a portly 65-year old might find that they need an extra large size. Great array of pockets for all sorts of uses. Hood is not detachable, but one cannot have everything in life. All in all, a very good buy and it arrived the next day.

Just arrived some half an hour ago, seems good so far. What I want to share is the size, since there are both stories you should select a size one bigger than normal in the Timberland coat reviews and those that have followed those instructions and ended up with a too big coat.I ordered size S (173 cm, BMI <23, EUR C46 or even B46 is typically my size and 48 with some Italians, 42" with at least some UK sized jumpers) and even the coat is not really very big inside, it could not be of bigger size (M) either. So the latter advice NOT to select one size bigger than normal seems to apply here, just go with the normal size you typically use. The chest size charts that are available for Timberland coats showed that I was in between the S and M, but had I ordered size M it would have been too big for me.

I'm loving this coat!

I've had a vision of a winter coat with exact details, and I've run into it at a Timberland store in NY. I immediately bought it without any hesitation - and never been happier with my decision. I've been wearing it for the second winter now, and it is still a pleasure to get into it, use the numerous pockets, to be protected from cold winds, to be able to wear only a T-shirt underneath in freezing temps. It tightly wraps around your waste and hands, the hood protects your head, simply awesome! You are definitely warm in this, no matter what is on the outside! I would like to congratulate the Timberland designers for making such a well-thought warm winter coat! Super-useful!
