Product Description
First established in Wolverhampton in 1908 the Viking brand has a history, rich in the tradition of top quality road bikes and throughout the century. Quality, style and durability have always been the hallmarks of Viking cycles. Today's Vikings embody those core qualities and look to widen the range to suit the ever increasing demands of changing lifestyles. For 2011 the range includes: Road, Fixed Wheel, Trekking, Comfort, Heritage, Tandems, Urban Sport and City Folders. No longer produced in Wolverhampton, each model now utilizes the technical developments of today's manufacturing processes and lightweight tubing. The Viking Prelude might be something you seem to be familiar with, borrowing a little traditional Dutch bikes and little from traditional British bikes. The Prelude combines the traditional features of low step frame, a full chainguard and a front basket, with modern alloy rims and powerful alloy V brakes and Shimano indexed gears. Always a willing partner whether it's an occasional jaunt to the shops or your daily commute, the Prelude comes equipped to meet your needs with full chromo-plastic mudguards, front mesh basket, rear alloy carrier rack and a comfy saddle.

Beautiful Bicycle!
By lemondrops
I bought this bicycle from another retailer and I absolutely love it!The price is small in comparison to most other bicycles of this style but you really don't lose out in quality. I really wanted a stylish bicycle for commuting, but one that wouldn't cost too much and this one perfectly fit the bill.I always get so many compliments about this bicycle, it looks sophisticated and is also so practical with both the basket and back pannier. It has 7 gears which is just enough for cycling up hills and the frame is sturdy and not too heavy. I've been using it for commuting for about 4 months now (30 min journeys each way) and have had no problems at all.Mine is the 16" frame and I am 5'5 1/2" and it's the perfect size for me. I do think though if you are just an inch or two taller, it would be best to go for the 19" frame.Hope this review helps :-)

Good bike, easy to put together, but worth getting adjusted by a specialist
By Martin Turner
My wife wanted a bike for Christmas, and after a huge amount of searching, and a fair few conversations with friends in the village, this is the one she chose. Key factors included a basket in front, a mount for panniers at the back, and a decent number of gears.Like almost all mail order bikes, this arrived in a big box which was about half the full size of the full bicycle. It required about an hour's work and a couple of square metres of floor to put it together. Tools are required. All the bits were there, but there were a couple of difficulties with the rail guard. After a month or so of riding round, we got the bike adjusted by a local bike shop, which solved all the residual problems. In retrospect, we would have been best to have put it together and then got the bike shop to adjust it straight away. This is a good bike, and is serving well.
