Very Stylish

This lamp has a lovely sturdy highly polished chrome base and the lamp stem I believe is actually a glossy dark honey veneer rather than wood though it does look real and is very appealing.The stem however appears to extend on such a steep angle that it feels it could easily tip over and damage the shade. The stem is not adjustable as far as I can see although I'm sure the weight of the base would be sufficient to counter this.The opaque translucent shade is also beautiful and swivels within the metalic shade holder to about 30 degrees whereas the actual shade holder also swivels to about 180 degrees.I only have a 28 watt halogen bulb in mine and I find this is sufficient for the type of work I do on the computer. It's possible to extend this to a 60 watt bulb if required. No bulb is provided and you will need the Edison screw in type bulbs.The cord is silver braided to match the chrome base plate and shade holder and extends via a central hollowed stem to the lamp. The silver braid is another aesthetically pleasingly touch as is the transparent safety plug.Overall this is one very stylish and trendy piece of kit and a very pleasant alternative to the outdated traditional banker's style lamps. It's sure to catch a comment or two from envious friends!
