Definitely get the UV option.

I originally got the inpond pump supplied with an Affinity Pool. I decided to upgrade to the UV clarifier and found it was better value to buy the complete unit than just the UV on it's own to add to my existing pump. Definitely go for the option with UV for keeping the water clear of algae.
