Zephyr Alto Zmx122fx MixerThis is an excellent piece of gear for the money. Our band plays small venues and we use this to simply drive two floor monitors ... two mics, active bass, kick + violin are the usual stakeholders... so we can travel light and setup fast. The guitar man brings his own amp. .. and we all have to lug a few drums around. The 4 pre amps are grand and the other channels are also useful + there are plenty of options ... the system is easy to troubleshoot in a hurry and in the dark while everyone else is trying to get more elbow room for themselves. The unit usually sits up on top of a monitor turned on its side just beside me, my mic, music stand and bass.The downside is that the manual is pretty brutal but the labeling on the unit is clear so you can figure it out on your own at home when there is no pressure. My one gripe is that there is no coherent information anywhere on the variations for the fx settings ... and I can't find anything on the web for this fx unit by alexis. In addition I was hoping to find a mixer initially which had one knob compressors ... but in practice I don't need this ... the fx and good control of the preamps for the mics allow us to keep everything nice and smooth.
