Very Happy!!!!!!

I've owned the Nylon version of this Classic guitar for two years. What can I say? Fab Fab Fab instrument! I'm a pro player and the big problem every time with an acoustic guitar is feedback. Not any more. You can turn the volume up and the guitar ups its game with you. If you don't have reverb on your amp, you've got two on the guitar as well as a great headphone input for home practice and a line in for backing if you need it. The frame splits to make a small guitar to transport and the action is better than most classical guitars I've played. If you're not sure if you should move to this style of guitar, honestly, go for it and you won't regret it. Happy Strumming!!

Brilliant for Small Women
By CaSundara
I'm a beginner so can't compare this guitar to anything other than a crappy gear4music model I bought to see whether I really wanted to learn. However, I nearly didn't get this far due to the pain I was experiencing in my right shoulder and finger-tips, so this was a god-send.The Yamaha Silent Guitar is perfectly sized for small-bodied women (I'm 5'3" and very small-built) and it also suits my nine-year-old son very well. It's very lightweight so comfortable whether sitting or standing, and the body couldn't be thinner; no more shoulder-ache for me!Basically, it's FAR easier to play than the awful thing I was using before - and sounds sooooo much better (when run through an amp - otherwise it's incredibly quiet, though not quite 'silent'). The pain I was experiencing in my fingers was stopping me playing as often as I wanted to, whereas these chunky strings are causing me no more than a strange, tingling numbness in the tips. This and the lack of pain in my shoulder make this guitar a pleasure to play. :-)I also love the fact I can practise at night without disturbing anyone (I'm an insomniac and I live in a Blue Peter flat made of breeze-blocks and sticky-back plastic so this was imperative!). Its size and lack of fragile, wooden body also mean it's easy to store and very portable, while unlikely to be easily damaged. The only faults I can find are: the bits the strap attaches to are smaller than those on many other guitars and so some straps work themselves loose, which means the guitar may fall to the floor - something that almost happened to me several times until I swapped to a cheap, uncomfortable strap; and the removable arm is less than 100% reliable: mine has worked its way loose at least twice (probably due to me reattaching the strap every time it came off and forgetting to tighten the screw holding the black piece in place).

Great guitar,as quiet or as loud as you want it.
By Streetshooter
I've had mine around a year now and would recommend this to anyone living in confined space as you can play it sitting anywhere you can a perch as it is light and not prone to banging into things like an acoustic in the same situation.Easy to play standing up as well as it is light.Build quality is excellent and the guitar has a quality feel to it.Haven't used it on my travels so can't comment on that part of it's appeal. What sounds pretty mundane acoustically is transformed when played through headphones especially as you can tweak the output using the onboard effects.Action is the nicest I've ever had although this is the most I've ever spent on an Axe...Love my Yam.,glad I got it.
