A great little scanner .....

.... I was initially disappointed when I realised there was no UK adapter in the box - but the seller responded immediately and the adapter arrived next day! So, I have now used the item, and I am very impressed so far. I had a similar item (by Toshiba) a couple of years ago, but it stopped working - I wasn't sure I should be spending over £80 on a replacement but I am very glad I did. This scanner is much quicker than my previous one, and has the added option of scanning direct to the computer. I didnt think I'd be interested - I was going to scan to an SD card and transfer my photos from that. But I gave the direct-to-PC scan a try - it's great! For one thing, you can see a thumbnail of the scanned item immediately, so if you feed a small photo in wonky, you can rescan sraight away. (You shouldn't have misfeeds if you used the supplied guide, but I didn't use it all the time and I did have one or two misfeeds from bent photos. With the guide things were much better)The speed of scan/transfer is amazing - I scanned 30 or 40 pics in minutes (the last model I had took a couple of minutes per scan!)I was tempted to give this item 5 stars - but downgraded because of the issue with the plug, and also because I want to reserve judgement until I see whether or not the scanner stands the test of time. Initially, though, yes I would recommend this if, like me, you want to digitise all of those pre-digital photos that you have lying around. It's really (really!) easy to use, and really fast. Good product!
