Excellent support, good walking shoe - very similar to Intercept
By Tigger
You definitely have to go up at least 1/2 a size to fit - if you go for the goretex version I would make that a whole size. Good arch and general foot support. Positive grip tread, perhaps a little too much! Great walking shoe, very comfortable not quite as soft as a cross-trainer, Finally the shoe is reasonably discrete looking for casual wear. slightly smarter than a trainer. Appears well made, take a look at the Merrel Intercept as I believe these are made from the same last, similar fit. It's a question of styling preference and also different deals seem to be around based on style, colour and size between these two shoes. If you are flexible with your choice then you could get a good quality shoe for a very good price.

Merrell Axis Sport 2 Boulder
By jct
Decided on a decent casual walker/trainer and due to reviews slightly preferred Merrell over Berghaus and North Face but had an open mind. Monitored the usual sites for about a month and Amazon, as usual, came up with a very good price for these. Again 'as usual' the items arrived true to description and spec and promptly. Can't offer a comparison to any equivalents but I'm very happy with my purchase, good price, comfortable, light, give good support and look ok in urban settings too. Will look at Merrell first next time.

great quality
By a4d
got these after reading the other merrel reviews + I went for a 10, I am normally a 9. Glad I did as the 9 would never fit. The 10 is a touch big, fine if you are wearing thick socks but the 9.5 may be better. When I first put on the shoes I noticed how firm it is, not soft/flexible like a runner but gives great support. I love merrels, but never really use them as they are intended (hiking etc)as I just use them day to day and they always last an age. My last pair are about 2yrs old and still as good as new.
